Well, it's worked to keep the parties off the front pages.
We're out of lateral flow tests for online ordering. Booster bookings site crashed.
Worst. Government. Ever.
Good planning eh? The whole thing was rushed through primarily to keep the Blonde Bumblecunt bad news off the front pages. He shouldn't have been allowed to make a 'state of the nation' address, he should have gone to HoC today to make statement and to take questions, etc. Not only feckin useless but a feckin coward as well.
Anyone would have thought that, given the inevitability of a new variation of covid which was either/or more transmissible or deadly, there would have been a plan already worked up with the necessary supplies/workforce/communications strategy already worked out and available to deploy. All it would have needed was someone to press the button and things were up and running - instead we have crap comms, websites collapsing, a run on LFTs, queues at testing sites with some folk being turned away because they haven't been told new rules, GPs unaware and unprepared for delivering 1m vaccinations a day, debate on whether we do away with the 15min waiting after being jabbed if not the vaccination centres not big enough, etc etc. Feckin shambles of Government!

She is terrible at speaking and those set piece events but, in fairness, almost everyone that has worked with her at DIT or FCDO (albeit only a few weeks) seems very impressed.

It's really not. The leader of the tory party is selected from a vote from about 180,000 tory party members

I just realized a remarkable consequence of the Tories Immigration Bill.
The DUP, like the loyal lick spittles they are; tramped thru the Aye Lobby; & supported the Bill, to allow any Home Secretary, to arbitrarily remove any UK citizen, citizenship; if that citizen, also is eligible for another Countries citizenship.
Now. Can anyone think of a place in the UK, that has a very large percentage of citizens; almost 100% in fact; that are also eligible for another Countries citizenship ?
.... I'll let you ponder that for a moment ....

Which, now I think about it, means I can lose my British one whenever priti Patel decides so

Am I being dull, or are holding passports and citizenship two separate things?
I've got an Irish passport due to Irish mother, but I've not become an Irish citizen.
What is extent of Patel's game here? Can she strip citizenship if you hold another passport or another citizenship? I'd be surprised if it was limited to a passport as that would leave people stateless. Although it's Patel we're talking about here.
eta: Hmm, Just done a quick bit of reading and apparently I'm automatically an Irish citizen. Ignore me.

Yeah, passport = citizenship.
I chose not to become a citizen in Israel, instead got a permanent residency (though I think that actually expires, since I no longer live there). Multiple citizenships can start to cause issues with what help you can get in countries etc.

I assume this relates to the likes of the ISIS wives, especially the high-profile one (too lazy to check the name) who I think has Bangladesh and UK citizenship so no doubt Patel would like to ship her out there.

Well that's the excuse for the Mail readers; but where is the scrutiny ? where is the oversight ?, in fact; where is the compliance with human rights ?
Oh; that's right; the UK is abandoning any adherence with International human rights

The inevitable assault on the human rights act by the execrable Raab has begun, I see.

A senior MoJ source said the government felt strongly that free speech and democratic debate had been whittled away “whether by wokery or political correctness”.
After the Mail on Sunday’s failed appeal over its publication of a letter written by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, to her estranged father, the source said common-law privacy laws had “come in by the back door” and that freedom of speech needed to be given “extra weight”.
These aresholes need putting back in their box ASAP.

There is, and there's work suggesting varying things depending on depth of temp changes in the water, and what the offset of the more local and global changes to air temps will be. The last time I tried to get an overview in terms of our lifetimes it was something of a non event for changes to temps to UK and Ireland would be, but there would be more violent events, but that overview itself might prove incorrect, and what I took from it might also have been incorrect

You usually have an option of getting the stamp on a separate insert; so you can remove it if needed, for a different country.
