The New Pornographers doing a great, faithful version of a song (wee bit faster, Neko's unique voice) by a band with a terrible name.

Simply amazing cover, even the original band themselves gave it a standing ovation

Better than the original imho.

Ann Wilson has one of the best voices in rock - ever. She could sing the yellow pages and I'll be mesmerized by her voice.
Each to their own and all that but, yea, na.

Though I will post a cover that is at least equal to the original...

I thought this was their best effort, better than the original for me, captured the essence of the song and some, it builds wonderfully,

Enjoyed that.

Stairway cover didn't do anything for me either, but each to their own.

OK - so apart from the fact that some dislike pop punk as much as the song Wonderwall.....can we just be appreciative of the fact that this guy is playing drums, bass, rhythm and lead guitar and singing - as well as producing and mixing all his covers. I mean - the guy has got some serious talent. And I kinda like his sound. He smashes some of the covers - check him out.

I'm not sure where I stand on this, I rarely find Tom Waits covers to be anything other than a product of someone being a fan, Johnny Cash being an exception.

On second thoughts, this is playing again as I type this and I've decided I like it

Not even Sir Roderick's version of this classic?

The quite exceptional guitarist and singer Molly Tuttle does a Rolling Stones number.

I've long been a fan, I managed to see her live pre lockdowns etc and she is the best guitarist I've ever seen live, or one of.

She's superb. Think I actually posted one of her covers earlier on the thread.

Going back a bit - Bryan Ferry did some good covers - Dylan's Hard Rain is Gonna Fall

And a Stones cover which I've always liked.

If you like atmospheric synth with breathy female singers, then this Aussie has a cool cover of Dancing in the Dark (along with two different songs entitled 'Dreams' - guess the artists - plus Imbruglia and Shania).

It's better suited to GnR, I reckon, or other hair metal!
