Re: Afghanistan: that turned out well
All over by lunchtime tomorrow. 20 years of being beaten up and the Taliban walk it in with AK’s, RPG’, some discarded Ford Bronco and the Toyota Hiluxes that were originally used against the USSR inside a month. Twenty years and the result is just another piece of the jigsaw gifted to China.

The boogey-man cycle has built up China and Russia. Much bigger targets to play out for however long it takes the media to get tired of before turning the spotlight on whoever it is that's benefiting from the fight.

Pretty scrappy and shit from the All Blacks. Woeful last 15min. Woeful barely describes it, have to give the wobs props for forcing it though and should have been a lot tighter with a decent goal kicker.

Re: NZ Rugby - NZ v Fiji
Score doesn’t reflect how much better the Fiji game is played now. If the Fijians can make their way into NZ Super Rugby it will only help them improve more.
Playing NZ in NZ is a bit of an extreme threshold to be developing or progressing with their time together. Over 160mins or so they had some ...

Not sure how long Glen Jackson has been part of the setup with Fiji but it’s a pretty good move to have a ref on board. He hasn’t had enough effect yet obviously but you’d assume it will at some stage.

Good turnaround for Fiji to tighten up, they lapsed out for a few mins and let a couple tries in but sorted it right out and finished that last 20mins strong.

I'm grateful the whole gig is only going to cost me $60 or so. I'm too lazy to cancel my sky sub and spark it up again for the All Blacks.
I think most people had the idea this was where a trans tasman comp was headed. I suppose we can be grateful NZR by design or complete accident gave separation ...

6 months or so in, whatever I've been doing has seen my blood sugar drop from the high of 142, all the way down to a count of 51 at last blood test a week or so ago.

Re: Americas Cup - Official Thread
Pretty worthwhile racing in the end. LR definitely let them off the hook in dropping a couple races they should have had bagged. Hard to say but if the scoreline was looking 5-5 that might have had ETNZ teetering on doubt and a lot more nervy than they were letting on. That last race clinched it for ...

Re: Americas Cup - Official Thread
So, if ETNZ win this next race it’ll be the last time we see these boats sail right? How many times has that kiwi boat actually raced, a dozen races or so? I mean it’s great to win but it seems like an awful lot of money for that many races and then it gets parked up in a museum. Or will they ...

Heartbreaking for LR but fuck me this is tight. We will sail 25km just to stay on the foils to finish the race. They could even abandon the race if we end up in the water again.

Re: Americas Cup - Official Thread
Right. So makes you wonder if that’s more in LR favour with the larger foils. Relatively speaking that is. Able to be in higher mode, and more rapid tacking.
They're both almost opposites. ETNZ wins the start and gets a nose in front they can sail away with it in clean air and have their own ...
