Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
It's actually a funny set of fixtures. It wouldn't surprise me if the team we put out for the 'A' fixture against England was considerably stronger than the 'full cap' team we put out against Romania, because England A will be considerably stronger than Romania. I had a pop a couple of pages back, ...

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
That was a proper entertaining match. Ali Price’s Lions call up seemed to add some fizz to his performance. Loving the look of young Forbes though. Certain to be capped in the Summer 😊 Young Thompson also still impressing 😊😊 Not familiar with Forbes but glad to hear Thompson is continuing to develop.

Will be hitting the pub for this one, thinking Saders by less than 7.
Great turnaround for the chiefs this year, got absolutely spanked last SR NZ!

Re: Official Lions selection, moaning and bitching thread
Not sure. Not seen the Daly rumour Will definitely take a tenner bet that Daly and Mako make it. Wouldn't be a huge surprise on Daly. He will be lucky, but probably gets in the conversation on versatility in the small squad. Although- due to time differences- my viewing of the recent 6N was severel...

Re: Official Lions selection, moaning and bitching thread
Some of it sounds like educated guesses. They are usually pretty good keeping Lions squads under wraps. You'd think the only player that will have been told already is AWJ assuming he is captain. People do seem fairly certain on Simmonds though, so if he's on the list, there might have been a small...

Re: The OFFICIAL NPR Book Thread
Finished Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart over the weekend after a recommendation from HKJC. Don’t know how often a first book wins the Booker Prize but that seems pretty impressive. It’s about a boy growing up in Glasgow in the 80’s with an alcoholic mother and all her trials and tribulations. It is...

Sutherland 50/50 whether or not hell need a shoulder operation. If it's rehab, hell be fit in plenty of time for the tour. If it's an operation, first game might be on tour. Black Isle Blonde and Arran Blonde where my favoured tipples back homes, London was Spitfire and Doombar, Australia's beer is absolute piss by comparison although a couple of okay ones are: 4 Pines Pacific and Stone & Wood. Another note, I find Brewdog's success utterly perplexing (success of br...

Re: Official UK Property Thread
What is the incentive currently for BTL landlords? As far I can make out, if you have £50k in cash you could get a 75% LTV BTL mortgage on a £200k property at say 2.5% it'll cost you about £670/month over 25 years. If you can rent that out for £750/month (outside South East) you'll clear roughly £2...

Re: Official UK Property Thread
Rent control Zero empirical evidence that they work, 100% agree that house prices need to move to a lower multiple of income but capping rents merely allows rent seeking landlords to take their properties off market and just allow the capital growth to assuage the income component. Those who can't ...

What has consistently struck me this season (frustrating as it's been) is the number of promising youngsters emerging and getting a decent crack at Pro14 rugby and generally making a good showing. Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
From Jamie Lyalls Twitter: Plenty folk are saying Hamish Watson is too small to mix it with South Africa's juggernauts. Last time he played the Boks, in Nov '18, he made more metres and beat more defenders than any forward on the pitch, and didn't miss a tackle. The guts of that SA team won the RWC...

Yes, agree with this. I think it's a little short sighted to write off curry's chances of starting based on the statistical head to head in this 6N. I think the best way to think of it is would Watson be more effective than Curry at 7 for England? I think yes. Would Curry be more effective than Wat...
