Re: PR Weirdos

I was watching that car crash today while doing other things. They are doing no harm to anyone on that forum. One thing that sort of amused me was that the source of the whole aids thing seems to be a report from the Koch Institute, who also published this.... https://www.rki.de/EN/Content/infection...

Re: Christmas Songs You Love / Hate / Find Weird

That cacophony Cliff Richard inflicted on the world in the late 80s It's a cover version, never heard the original but refuse to believe it could be anywhere near this bad. It is an old memory but I think that was written by a bloke that I used to know vaguely (friend of a friend) called Chris some...

Re: The Brexit Thread

All for the sake of a few dozen fishing licences . :wtf I can see why the fishermen are upset; the UKs position seems to be explicitly designed to get the French as pissed off as possible. UK's position is to implement what was agreed in the fishery agreement, not sure what people are really expect...

According to the response to a FOI request published by Wings, Nicola will only treat the report of the Hamilton enquiry as advisory. Not sure if the link will work but here I go...

Re: The last time you posted on PR?

A long long while ago, back when Tae had GE & Straw locked in his basement and everyone thought "El Bonkered" was funny. Long enough ago to give advice to Softie for a place to stop for a break on his trip to see Fawlty (it went wrong as the place was trashed by football hooligans) May...

Re: Tory Scum

https://goodlawproject.org/update/civil-servants-break-law-for-no10/ That is, requests to break the law came from within No 10. While the idea seems sound in principle, I am far from convinced by the idea of crowd funding legal actions and I am not alone in that. OK, my background is law but it was...

Re: Tory Scum

Naughty of Mr Hancock if he knew it was that long, but still doesn’t change or invalidate my points about what the judgement was about despite the wibbles of the deranged. The judgement found and only found that the Secretary state was unlawful in publishing the contracts late. It didn’t find any c...

Re: The Scottish Politics Thread

Quiet, not denying that this is not newsworthy, so much so 2 stories on the front page are dedicated to it. So why do you think the Beeb only finds this one newsworthy? One would think our own government being found guilty in the high court of breaking the law would garner some glimmer of attention...

Re: The Scottish Politics Thread

Not able to watch but opinion seems to be the MSP's asking questions are not doing very well. I have been watching (they are on their first break now) and, as someone with a background in law, IMHO Salmond really is very good. He is calm, reasoned and reasonable and has planned responses to predict...

In theory he is answering questions rather than speaking but, in practice, you may well have the right of it. I am sort of looking forward to it in an odd sort of way. Whatever the rights or wrongs, it needs sorting.

Re: Tory Scum

The High Court found that was a technical breach in that the contracts were not published within 30 days and Hancock admitted it. The contracts were published published on average 17 days late. No judgement was made on the contracts themselves, corruption or cronyism. That’s why beyond the wailings...

Based close to J11 of the M6 near Birmingham but in a rural area. I am 60 with mild COPD and had my first dose on 17th, which suprised me. I gather that a few others in the village also had their first dose. I suppose that, if they are going to set up a centre to target the most vulnerable, they mi...

Eggs. My mother loves them but couldn't eat them when she was carrying me without throwing up and I have inherited that. The whole thing gets a bit Pavlovian as, even the smell, can make me feel ill. Not good in the average UK B&B.

Pfizer. They gave me this handy leaflet with (amongst other things) instructions about not using it past its sell by date and being sure to store it at -60C. Some interesting side effects listed as well but, obviously, very rare. Unexpected 15 minute rest afterwards as a very tiny tiny percentage wi...

Re: The Scottish Politics Thread

As I say, I usually look at Wings as much for the entertainment value (he does a good rant!) than for the content, however I find the stuff about Nicola turning up at an NEC meeting and talking it out to be pretty disturbing. All in all, it is looking like a right mess and I just hope it sorts itsel...

I am not a Scot but I am married to one and love the place, so sort of a Scot by marriage. Personally, I am not in favour of independence but I can understand why others think differently and the passion behind that. Not a fan of Nicola. Anyway, with that done, I sort of keep an eye on Wings Over Sc...

Re: What symptoms of Covid had you worried

Nope. Not following your second sentence at all. I thought if the patient felt in a certain way that was indeed a symptom. So if I said “I feel nauseous” are you saying that’s neither a sign or a symptom? If you feel nauseous, that is something you feel but that I can't observe so it is a symptom.

Re: What symptoms of Covid had you worried

A symptom is a manifestation of disease apparent to the patient himself, while a sign is a manifestation of disease that the physician perceives. The sign is objective evidence of disease; a symptom, subjective. Symptoms represent the complaints of the patient, and if severe, they drive him to the ...
