Re: Saudi/Qatar et al bidding for RWC
Kiwi world cup was significantly lower spec. Enjoy your world cups in shithole countries that don't give a shite about rugby.... Yeah, honestly the more I think about it the more it pisses me off that the Saudis might end up hosting a RWC before Argentina or Italy and before South Africa gets a sec...

Re: Saudi/Qatar et al bidding for RWC
Spain and Portugal would be great and bring up two countries who will contribute for decades. I am still a fan of Italy getting one, or if you want to go off the wall, Germany would be great hosts also. And I know that US is hosting in 2031, but a more deserving country versus Middle East would be ...

Saudi/Qatar et al bidding for RWC
Has there been a thread on this?
It was only a matter of time. Inevitably they are trying to get their hands on the RWC and I'm sure for the right price their bid will succeed.
Honestly, I probably would not watch the RWC if it ends up there. It has no connection to the sport whatsoever.

Argentina won HK for the first time and sit atop the table. They are a serious force in 7s these days, they destroyed everyone in the pool stages.

In addition to the forward play, Pelligrini played a blinder. Outplayed his compatriot to be fair.

Re: Super Rugby 2025 Thread
Anyone know what's going on with Pasilio Tosi? he hasn't been named in a Canes game-day squad for a few weeks now, but he hasn't been listed as injured either. That's one thing that Super rugby could improve upon. There are obviously four reasons why players are out, long term, season ending/curtai...

Re: Super Rugby 2025 Thread
Yeah, injuries have really derailed Blues season, plus losing Akira. No Riccitelli and no news on BBs return. I'm hoping they can put a run together and make a low seed because I hate to see a championship poorly defended like this. Yep, would be great to see them playing better. I don't think the ...

As forecast by Guy - O'Connor with the start for Saders this week. Ethan Blackadder back, Sevu Reece rotated out of the team.
Looks like the Chiefs are living their best lives in Hong Kong during the bye week.

Re: B&I Lions 2025 Official Thread
My excitement was destroyed some time ago by a large number of Welsh fans that were quite hideous to every English travelling fan. What happened? Never ending vitriol to English people, beer thrown at my wife and others who were not Welsh, some really unsavoury singing that was against English (ass...

Re: Super Rugby 2025 Thread
You think the Blues can turn it around after the bye week? No idea tbh. Their round 8 opponents the Canes are coming off their own bye this week, so it'll be interesting to see if there's any rust against the Tahs. And a lot will depend on how many of the Blues casualties are back. If Tuipulotu's o...

Me too.
I'm very hot and cold on the Lions tbh so I can see where PB is coming from but the Wallabies test match series tend to deliver.
Even though it is the series with the least tradition behind it I think it's my favourite of the three.

This is the kind of thinking that led to Barrett being used as a starting 10 by the ABs, resulting in 7 years of famine. Leave O'Connor where he's succeeding (mostly) and leave Kamara to develop nicely. Not to push back too heavily on your point here but do you see Kamara developing? The only reaso...

Europe hasn't actually done anything yet. So far it's just hot air Yeah I am not sure how much Europe will actually do outside of talking a lot. Re: All Blacks 2025
Looking at that Blues-Saders game where, FWIW, neither Perofeta nor Kemara set the world alight what are the options for the ABs at 10? Dmac has probably been the player of Super rugby thus far but who would be the next in line after Barrett - who has only played 40 mins at 10 this season and who is...

Lam wasn't dropped, he played on wing, where he's played a lot of his rugby. I think it was fairly late in week when Clarke pulled out. I actually was real impressed with the kid at 12, looked probably to have the makings of a good one there, very much a playmaking 2nd five rather than the crash an...

The weather's looking good in Pukekohe. Should be about 20 at kickoff, so hopefully no dew. This game was originally planned to be played in Tonga right? Is the reason it is in Pukekohe because it is halfway between Albany and Hamilton or just so it can be played elsewhere in the region? Must admit...

That 7Up Jordan was one of the iconic F1 cars and was of course where Michael Schumacher got his start in F1 1991. Interview with Razor & Mark Robinson. Not a lot to be gleaned here but my main takeaway is that Robinson seems very optimist about the state of the international game and the direction rugby is heading. Seemingly not too perturbed about the loss of INEOS sponsorship. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/s...
