If I was a Chiefs fan I would be very unhappy with the length of that advantage for a knock on.

What’s Nisbett on about re. an early tackle? Savea had touched that so was fair game. Does he think they need to stand back to see if he might regather?

Having returned to NZ after spending a fair bit of December and January in the UK (predominantly up North) I didn’t notice much difference in attitudes/behaviour. I probably see a few more people in masks back here but that seems about it. New York seemed the place most still “into it” on my travels ...

Fantastic death bowling from Sri Lanka. This had looked very comfortable but suddenly NZ need 10 off the last and are struggling to middle anything.

Edit: struggling to middle anything except for the first ball of the final over which has been pumped for six .

Game 3, T20 NZ vs Sri Lanka (the decider and final game of NZ’s domestic season).

Sri Lanka are accelerating and have a good start at 51-0 after six.

Not a bad system, but couldn't have been more clear cut on a quick review.

And did he come back after 20mins or does that allow the team to bring someone else on?

Agree with the plum needing a long ban. There's no real punishment / disincentive on reckless challenges in this to him otherwise ...

Definitely not pretty but with the injuries the Crusaders have, any win is a good win. With reinforcements still to come they are doing well to be hanging in there with the leading sides.

A couple of quick wickets and suddenly a sub-200 chase could be a possibility. I will claim some credit after forgetting this was on a turning on in time to see the wickets fall.

I lived through the banning.

At our school they also stopped us doing a battle game where opposing teams, sometimes up to 10 a side, of a runner with someone perched on their shoulders would charge at each other and “fight”.

It’s not like we weren’t safety conscious though, we only ever played ...

I thought bullrush was banned at schools back in the 80s/90s - it used to be great fun. They still use it at the kids rugby practice though.

As for the drop out rate, for my son’s group at least, a lot of it came down to size. They are pretty small and as they get older the weight range becomes ...

If my son’s club is anything to go by, drop out rates from rugby must be a concern. He is 11 and half a dozen have gone to soccer this season. Back when I was his age that was the time of influx rather than exodus, but it now seems to be the reverse.

Finn Allen with an outrageously wavy mullet and Chad Bowes with the sensible type of hairstyle you would expect from someone plying their trade for Canterbury have made a tidy start vs Sri Lanka in ODI 1.
