Re: Scotland v Wales match thread
wales are in this Mote than that, I reckon we're just about shading the play. The difference between this team and previous iterations under Gatland is that we'd have never made it with 5 metres of the line 3 times and not come back with points. We've done enough for at least one more try, but the ...

No one seems to have mentioned that outrageous take from Dyer. He's made some mistakes, but if he can clear them up in his game, he's going to be some player.

Re: Scotland v Wales match thread
Our front row is so immobile. We're constantly using them as one out runners, but Scotland can make a cup of tea in the time it takes them to catch the ball, run, and then engage the defensive line.

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
I reckon the Dragons would have put up more of a fight. Are thr Scarlets now officially the worst region in Wales?
Anywho, old Carwyn looks like an absolute unit. Would like to see him in a game/team on the front foot.

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Certainly was a good win. The centres went well and Myler has been an excellent signing. The locks were good and Lydiate tackled everything. North back in form will mean a 1/2p, North and Adams back 3. North's defence with people getting on his outside is still there though Myler has been the signi...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Shades of Max Boyce's "strangest dream of all", last night I dreamt that Wales won the RWC, beating NZ 34-20 in the final. Sadly it wasn't revealed to me when this will happen nor who was in the team. I don't think I've had a rugby related dream before. https://media.tenor.com/images/bdd7...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Dire isn’t it? Newcastle chasing the game and they think the best tactic is kicking tennis. Was thinking the same thing. Their attack has been absurdly deep as well. Easy pickings for the Blues defence. And with that, the Blues seal the win with a decent maul. Decent performance from the Blues, but...

Well done Dragons! I must admit, when Glasgow went over, I turned off the TV...and genuinely thought someone was taking the piss when I saw someone else congratulating the Dragons.
Got to love that young Welsh backrow. Great performance.

Jeff's All New and Sad Wales Ratings v Ireland
15. Leigh Halfpenny – Missed a sitter, and generally didn’t do a lot all round. 4/10 14. Liam Williams – A bit punchy, which is all right if you are bringing you’re A game, but like many others, he wasn’t at the races. 4/10 13. Jon Davies – Another nothing game from Davies. 3/10 12. Owen Watkin – Li...

Re: Jeff's All New and Exasperated Wales Ratings v Scotland
Wales gave away 16 penalties. SIXTEEN! You're right...maybe I should take another point off everyone! To be fair to us, though, Geoff, we have a fine tradition of failing to show up for away games. The fact that today we managed to screw the nut and grind out the win is a massive step forward for u...

15. Leigh Halfpenny – Remarkably, he didn’t appear to make one tackle from the official stats. A stat that speaks to the general insipidness of the other overall game. 4/10 14. I’ve just remembered that history will record this as the day the WRU unleashed SLH upon an unsuspecting rugby world... the Japanese have Godzilla... Nice big front 5. Wainwright is not quite at his best so can't complain about the switch to SLH - good problem to have with those two and Moriarty, or even Navidi, all options at 6. It's good to see that in Wales' hour of need, they've turned to a Rhondda boy to make it work. It's the wrong Rhondda...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Fairly disappointing. Hard to know whether score is a fair reflection. France were clearly the better team, but Biggar left 8 points on the fielder, and we fucked up on their try line with that quick tap towards the end. Add in that France has that one opportunistic try, and the game could have been...

The Frogs are getting pinged for it, but not half as much as they should...they are going long at every ruck, almost always off their feet.
For every time they don't get pinged, our ball is irrevocably slowed down.

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Anyone explain our defence pattern outside of shite Utter bollocks? It's some sort of rush defence with Tipuric seemingly being given 'shooter rights' to do whatever he pleases. Works when you can control the tempo and you are on the front foot in defence, but when on the back foot it creates, well...

Getting beat up on the gainline. We're working our bollocks off to tackle them, and they are still making yards beyond the tackle...whereas they are stopping us with ease, and then turning us over with near impunity.

Faletau running the dummy line made that. Standard moves like that usually have the second wave of forwards crashing onto it at speed.

This has actually been a really good win for the Ospreys, even if the performance wasn't that flash. The Ospreys were a special kind of wank last season without their internationals, so any win against anyone is a big thing. Osprey's slower but meatier pack finally got on top, and Myler has been an ...

And just to make my point, he makes an outstanding turnover on his own line...then from the subsequent line out, misses his man, and Glasgow are back on the Ospreys line.Jeff the Bear wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 5:58 pm If Lake could sort his darts out, he'd be a nailed on international.

Re: Bledisloe I: All Blacks vs Wallabies: MATCH THREAD: Oct 11
Thoroughly enjoyed it (got disturbed half way through so had to watch the second half on delay). Whenever I see teams give it the All Blacks in the first 20, my initial thought is that they won't be able to do this for the full 80...but the Wallabies did it. Was very impressed with their newcomers, ...
