It turns out dark energy may have just been an embarrassing error, and there is no real need for it.

Personally I never liked dark energy and will be very happy if it goes the way of the Luminiferous ether and Phlogiston.

Just over halfway through 'Inhibitor Phase', which is Reynolds' return to the Revalation Space scenario.

I liked the book at first, but am finding it of slowly diminishing appeal the further I progress. It may yet ramp up to a gripping climax.
