Re: Saudi/Qatar et al bidding for RWC
We're certainly far from an ideal, but we don't have corruption on an ANC level, if arguably because we've sorted ours over the longer term via the class system, and we don't have rape as the national sport Like I said, enjoy your bubble. Your last comment is incredibly crass and seemed unnecessary.

Re: Saudi/Qatar et al bidding for RWC
Like a number of nations SA are being caught out by the need to stump up a lot of money. Though I'm not sure if stating if a corrupt nation doesn't get a World Cup if should go to a corrupt nation is a line of thinking without issue "Corrupt nation" That's a nice bubble you live in.

I was the same with the Stormers on Friday. Gave up after 50 minutes because they were playing badly and being filthy arseholes. I think the Stormers and Sharks are both poorly coached at the moment, especially the packs. They make bad decisions, can't protect their ball and give away stupid penalt...

Re: Saudi/Qatar et al bidding for RWC
In all honesty, I think it's absolutely outrageous that South Africa aren't locked-in hosts for one of these. They can also share some games with Zimbabwe and Namibia to make it a regional tournament. If they don't get it, then I'd quite happy to see a Middle East tournament just to piss everyone off.

Can we agree now that Leinster aren't allow to kick at him or near him?

I didn't see the game, but Zebre got a bit lucky with that last try.
Anyway, a win's a win. Kolisi looks in good form.

So it looks like the seniors at my kids school are $harks supporters. They were wearing popped fukken collars with pride yesterday. Do I take him out of the school? Or do I just accept that he may become a $harks supporter? At 5 years old, is he to young to be disowned? Accept that your children ar...

The Sharks team is starting to look a bit better now, with the return of some key players.
But still no Eben. I'm hearing that his concussion is very serious, and they don't even have an estimated return to play date.

Agree with all of that. Stick with the priorities that will benefit South Africa the most. Forget emotions and nice feelings, we've no business in the Middle East. And drop anything to do with BRICS too, it will cost us much more in the long run. Out of that lot, I'd only stick to improving relation...

I thought that was a great race. Rain always adds to the drama, and luck plays a big part.
McLaren look good. Very mature drive from Norris; if it was 2024 or 2023 he would have lost his nerve at the end.
Mercedes also look pretty solid.

I didn't know about Italy playing Zim, that's great news. Perhaps Negri had something to do with it.
Much needed high-level gametime in the run-up to the Africa Gold Cup.
Zim players in the URC and Varsity Cup are doing well, let's just hope we can beat Namibia again this year.

In all seriousness, it's a bit of a nothing-trophy. But considering where we were this time last year, I'll take it as an indication that we're heading in the right direction. And at least Plumtree, despite the criticism he is constantly under, can say it goes well with the Challenge Cup and Currie ...

It is the most important trophy in the competition, even more so than the URC trophy.

Ah well, that's a shame. This isn't a vintage Proteas side, but we've been in some good form late.
I agree with Guy; I wouldn't call it a choke. We weren't overwhelming favourites to win it, and NZ were clearly the better side.
Good luck in the final. For the love of god, please beat India!

Mchunu leaves for the Stormers.
It's such a shame, I thought he was developing into a great prop. Gametime seems a strange excuse, as Ox is usually on Bok duty.

Kitsoff calls it a day due to his injury.
Very sad news, he deserved a better send-off. Hopefully the Stormers will do something special for him at their next home game.
A wonderful servant to South Africa rugby. An icon of the bomb squad and arguably one of the best to play the game.
