Re: RWC QF2: Ireland vs New Zealand
I never thought I'd see All Blacks supporters capitulate so meekly - you guys would go through the roof if your team did that on the park. When I worked with Kiwis 30 years ago the thing was "Where are you from?" - is that still a thing? It doesn't look like it. I've been part of this loo...

Re: Ireland v Wales 6N Thread
Only just watched the Sco v Eng game. I guess we can conclude that one area Eng has a great deal of depth in is dim front row players. I don't think you would see Tadhg Furlong caught out on the wing like that bat the ball into row Z. No, he would field the ball, hand-off the runt winger & retu...

Re: The Joke Thread
What a fucking scumbag that parrot was  Have we had Barry Cryer's parrot in the freezer joke? A man owns a parrot that can't stop swearing. So he says to him, 'If you don't stop swearing, I'll put you in the fridge.' The parrot keeps on swearing. So he puts it in the fridge. Five minutes later...

It sort of is here. Fück all cases and fück all deaths. Diseases burn out all the time and Big Don just got his timing a bit off. By November the US will have it under control and he will walk the election. I somehow doubt this. The US still spends multiples of what the UK or other countries spend ...

I actually don't know why the schools went to such bother with pods etc. I was in Naas at lunchtime - the kids from 3 of the secondary schools in town were hanging around in groups, no masks, no social distancing, complete mixing between different schools. It makes a farce of all of the work being ...

Re: So, coronavirus...
Looks like the new cdc testing protocols were pushed through when Fauci couldn't be present and was under anaesthesia. Unsurprisingly he's apparently not happy with them. Asymptomatic individuals have been measured to carry just as high a viral load as symptomatic ones ... you say ... Can we start ...

Re: So, coronavirus...
CDC have been ordered from up above to stop testing asymptomatic people (even if they've been in contact with a known covid case). That'll lower those case numbers nicely... But also stop resources chasing after the asymptomatic who (at best) have a weak ability to shed virus. Therefore you focus o...

Re: So, coronavirus...
So if you've had it you're probably OK for the future but are still contagious, at least that's the assumption that Professor seems to be making. This would fall in with the theory that a lot of the asymptomatic cases are people fighting it off easily due to previous non covid coronavirus infection...

Re: So, coronavirus...
how many million infections so far? one documented reinfection... I will take my epidemiological pinch of salt and suggest that reinfection is not that likely. Exactly. We are running an experiment with 7 billion individuals and we appear to have detected a second version of the virus in the same p...

It beggars belief what they have done here. This will go down in European Commission history as one of the stupidest things a member state has ever done. It is complete madness. Re: NAMA NAMA NAMA
Which leads to the question why ? If the virus is in the wild in Ireland, which it is, have those susceptible to its worst effects mostly got it already; or has the virus subtly changed so that it doesn't affect people so badly ? Infection control for the most vulnerable has possibly worked as inte...

So weird, under the old method, today's reported death count in the uK is 5 deaths. Under the new method (Deaths within 28 days) it's 1 on their xls published speadsheet. But on the primary website (also says deaths within 28 days) it's 6 :wtf:  Either way, don't worry. The numbers are either ...
