Re: Rugby nice guys

Was the question... "What made you so good?"

No mate it was after discussion on AB rest protocols (was first year of it), and QRU fella moaned how tough it was to sell tickets and they shouldn't do it.
I simply asked if it was NZ teams jobs to fill out stadium. and pointed out I was gold ...

Was at a rugby luncheon at Brisbane about 17-18 years back. Speaker was Grant Fox, after the lunch everyone retired to bar upstairs, and Aussie mates were real impressed that Foxy left the bigwigs from QRU and wandered over to our table, to start with to tell me he liked a question I had asked ...

Re: All Blacks 2025

I genuinely think the names that the selectors will be talking about are Blackadder (because they just seem to want him),maybe Lio-Willie, heading north both Lakai and Kirifi, next team north Jacobson and Sititi, and then Papali'i and Savea.
I know I forgot someone, but like NZer I forget things ...

Re: All Blacks 2025

I don't know if Razor asked Dalton to play differently last year... but he played very tight with the All Blacks, very defensive and hardly carried... but he is fast and big... they should use him more as a carrier....

I wonder if they will move Ardie to 7 and Sititi to 8... and find a big six ...

Re: Super Rugby 2025 Thread

I caught a 13 minute highlights package off youtube, working last night and didn't remember to check the result all night.

Interesting for me is that when the Crusaders have been beaten this year it's been through other teams bossing them up front. There's a weakness there. Also interesting is ...

Not a fan of super point, a draw is a draw as we saw last night. And 2 biggest winners last night are Brumbies and Chiefs, both get teams that are extra knackered after an extra time match.
Plus I had to stay up until after 11.30pm. well past my bedtime to watch the finish.

Re: Super Rugby 2025 Thread

I thought Newell went well, but think perhaps the a little too much being made of that last penalty. Yes it was good , but he was scrumming against a kid, and Blues loosies looked to be not putting in weight and to be just hanging on to cut down JOCs option for a droppie. I was absolutely expecting ...

Re: All Blacks 2025

Good move by Ioane. I convinced this (like Jordies) this is done with NZR's approval. I think I read when Jordie went to Leinster, NZR reps met with Leinster and mapped out a rough playing schedule, so he came back in reasonable nick for AB's season. This kind of thing is a win win for everyone.
I ...

The Chiefs have been fined for cheating.

I reckon they should have to forfeit the result. Twice in one game ( a one pointer ) is clearly premeditated.

They need to get over the inferiority complex, playing wonderful sparkling rugby and still thinking in the gutter.

He had also already slotted a kick, albeit a much easier conversion. But I see Gumboots point - he was given a lot of responsibility for a debutant, I was actually very surprised that Lam was dropped to make way for him since I thought Lam had a decent game v the Brumbies.

Wonder why the newbie Taele took the Blues' last conversion attempt when Perofeta was on the field.

While cheering for Crusaders as a kiwi, I honestly am very relaxed if we have all kiwi teams lose this weekend. We got the comp I have always wanted. Seems the idea of dropping one Aussie team (much as I disliked them being thrown out) is showing to be what comp needed.
