I'm really not convinced of these things as true "hi-fi" (i.e. may as well get music speakers) but one adv soundbars can have is auto-calibration. Just checked on the capabilities of this one........ and it doesn't even have the function! That's a lot of money to be missing that feature.

Finally managed to snag one of these for my son!

Nice one, Dad. I’ve got so many quality games on the PS4 to sink my teeth into when I find some time, so am not in the market yet, but they look awesome and seemingly very hard to come by.

It took about 4 months of near misses (couple of times had items in basket and then failed before checkout when stock ran out in under a min) to finally get one, ended up on a Discord server (MSTV) tracking the releases. Game finally had a drop and I got in queue early so finally had a transaction that completed with Stock!

Can't believe the lack of supply and delays in deliveries to all sorts of stuff.
I've had an Epson A3 photo printer on order since Feb, absolutely none of any stripe in the country, anywhere.

COVID + Brexit if you are in the UK is proving fun. I needed a new pair of approach shoes from Salewa but the UK website says "closed". I called them and was told............... There's also been a ton of scalpers grabbing stock.Happyhooker wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 9:07 amI think with the ps5 that there was a fire in one of the key factoriesinactionman wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 8:24 am Can't believe the lack of supply and delays in deliveries to all sorts of stuff.

There's an enormous global semiconductor shortage that's impacting virtually all electronic device manufacturing. At the start of Covid, some factories shut down, although they're now back up to full speed, but at the same time demand has gone through the roof. Regardless of scalpers grabbing stock of PS5, Sony are going to miss their sales forecasts for this year - because they've not been able to source enough components to manufacture the things. Apple had to delay the launch of the iPhone 12 because they wouldn't have any for sale at launch. Car manufacturers are idling output at factories because this is all happening at the point where they now need more semiconductors than ever before due to the switch to EV.
It can take 2 years to spin up a new semiconductor factory, so these kind of supply chain challenges will continue for some time - in the meantime expect prices to go up

I bought a 2060 GFX card in June last year for £299. That card now is £480 is fucking crazy. 3090's are going for £2600, RRP is supposed to be just over a grand.Saint wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 2:31 pm There's an enormous global semiconductor shortage that's impacting virtually all electronic device manufacturing. If you can get a founders edition card, that have to be sold at rrp, you can make £££s in moments, but bots tend to snatch them all.

Just got mail form wex saying it's arrived in-stock and will be shipped onwards tomorrow.
Must have reverse-jinxed it. It'll probably arrive in pieces now.
So this is latest purchase:
Was going go for a canon Pro-200 for slightly better print quality and slightly lower per-print cost but they don't seem to exist in the wild, and they're a fair bit more expensive.

It get worse, Overclockers dropped a 2060 (not ti), the exact same model as mine, overnight - listed at £569.99 + delivery. Strangely they don't seem to have sold out yet.

Really optimistic about the 2022 skiing.
I've got 6 weeks booked in Whistler starting mid Jan. Reckon I have an 80%+ chance of it happening, and have been buying all sorts of kit up at discount rates - new skis, salopettes, backpacks, Smith Goggles at 75% off......Uncle fester wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:50 pmAnd now the pants to go with it.Uncle fester wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 8:08 pm Eider ski jacket that will probably have to wait till 2022 for proper use.

You're going skiing for 6 weeks straight?
I'm on my first holiday since last August. Two days after leaving the office, about 30 calls on the mobile.

Yep. I hit 20 years with my employer on September 2nd, qualifies me for either a 10k bonus or a 6 week paid sabbatical. 6 weeks skiing, all work email and messaging turned off. Gives me an additional target for my weight loss/fitnessUncle fester wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:07 pm You're going skiing for 6 weeks straight?

My vintage Sennheiser headphones finally packed it in, and since I'm deeply impressed by the sound I get from my B&W speakers I went for their headphones this time. Unfortunately my old Naim Unitilite doesn't have Bluetooth so had to plump for a decent Bluetooth audio transmitter as well.
Let's hope they all work smoothly together.

He won't last 2 weeks. My daughter now lives there and she's broke. So I'll just tell her to go and stay for free with "Saint". He'll fuck off in a heartbeat.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 10:53 amThat's really coolSaint wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:14 pmYep. My old sekonda watch packed in, wanted to get something that reflected my sense of humour, fun and just general awesomeness.
Though it is slightly "Dorothy Daycare".
