Shall we have one? I'll start
Fucking Irish, think they own the fucking league, Irish refs, Irish sponsors, only reason not to go straight to a playoff to end the season is because they desperately want a home playoff game for Munster (Oh, they're not playing Leinster in the games that have been arranged? What a surprise). Always trying to rig the competition in their own favour.
Fucking Welsh, think they're gods gift but their teams are dogshit. It's a joy watching them fuck up again and again.

Any word on the impending arrival of our new South African Overlords??
Will need a rethink of the final if it goes ahead. If it’s leinster v stormers it would be daft taking it to Glasgow or Cardiff. Or vice versa. Always thought the highest ranked team from the league getting a home final (Or home country even better) is a great idea as per super rugby. Makes the league competitive right till the end. You just don’t want an empty stadium for the final.
Will the welsh sides be any better next season. Scarlets look to have recruited well.

We don't want to be part of this shitty fucking competition. Who would want to be part of a competition populsyed by Spud, Leek, Haggis and Garlic munchers?Lazy couch potato wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 10:55 am Any word on the impending arrival of our new South African Overlords??

Unless the Sheep Shaggers and Shackle Deaggers kick us out. Then we would love to be included in such a prestigious competition.
I like having the possibility of home advantage (or at least nominating the venue) for the finalist who finished highest in the regular seasons.
Conferences make a mess of that, though. Sure, one of the top two will have accrued more league points, but who's to say that wasn't just a fluke of topping an easier conference? Unless of course it's Leinster, where they're naturally the best.

Of course it's the fucking Irish trying to work things to their their advantage, as always, and trying to pretend it's fair and open. And all based around Dublin - as that's where any Irish 'home advantage' final is always, always going to be played. There were 35,000 people at Murrayfield for Leinster v Connacht in the final, and the sense is that it's only going to grow. If we don't have an 'event' final then we'll never achieve the really big attendances the French and the English get. Why the fuck would we folow the failed models of the southern hemisphere.Nols wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 11:08 am I like having the possibility of home advantage (or at least nominating the venue) for the finalist who finished highest in the regular seasons.

(I remind you this is a shitposting thread, so I've probably been a little more vehement than normal)

But of course we should keep all our Wonderful Irish advantages. And we’ll use all that glorious welsh tv money to pay all refs to deny every welsh try and whistle them off the field. In fact hearing the lamentation of welsh fans and the booing of the weegie fans is what gets us up in the morning
Serious mode. Pro10 and mates only works If all the constituent parts feel they are competitive. Bar the Italians who are happy to be included at all time you need competitive Irish welsh and Scottish teams at play off level. It’s very bad for the league to have the welsh so disengaged at the same time the welsh national team is reasonably strong. Scarlets being gutted of players Was a disaster for the league.
Re:The finals We’re all reasonably close in geographic terms. You can ship/fly over an increased 10-20k fans at a short notice. But if the big 4 saffer teams are involved we can’t expect a big travelling support for a final. You’d have to assume given their current rosters that any of the 4 could make a final. It’s not a guaranteed home win as witnessed by crusaders beating the lions at home in the last2 super rugby finals.
But it needs to be in a stadium that looks reasonably full!!

You seem to forget the absolutely shit loads of Saffers in the UK that would travel to a big final including a saffer teamLazy couch potato wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 12:21 pm But of course we should keep all our Wonderful Irish advantages. I can’t see you rounding up 20k saffers At a weeks notice. Maybe I’m wrong.
Yes it’ll always be inherently unfair. Conferences do that. If your home and away derbies include Leinster Ulster Connacht that’s a tad tougher than the dragons Cardiff and ospreys at their current rosters and playing standard. Thems the breaks
Truthfully no system is ideal. We don’t have the centralised economy of France or England so We have to do what works for us. The spiv wars of a few years back and the rwc voting show how all 3 of the irfu, wru and Sru try at every chance to get one over each other. They are the very best of frenemies. Hate each other but fucked without each other. Any we’re letting one of the most duplicitous unions in to play.
The welsh regions have never gelled As we all know but the players are there. Having at least one very strong welsh team is a must. Scarlets looked to be building that but have had to rebuild. The Scottish teams have improved no end over the last 5 years. Obviously Glasgow haven’t reached the heights of their winning season but arguably they’ve been a stronger unit....it’s just leinster have improved much further. Edinburgh have become a solid unit.
In frank terms we evolve or die. All parts must Be competitive. Or at least have one competitive team. Derbies must be super competitive. Enough of the b teams thrown out by Munster v Leinster to full houses.

On the schedules, in some ways they're fairer now - everybody has the same number of games vs Irish teams, Italian teams, Welsh teams and Scottish teams. Before, the Irish teams had the advantage of playing against Irish opposition less than a Welsh team for example.Lazy couch potato wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 1:28 pm I can’t see you rounding up 20k saffers At a weeks notice. Is this aimed at us? Because if it is I resent it. How can we be duplicitousesses if we're so stupid? BTW why don't you just use the word deceitful you posh fokon uppity up? Or did you hope we're too stupid to know what it means?Lazy couch potato wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 1:28 pm I can’t see you rounding up 20k saffers At a weeks notice. Maybe I’m wrong.

I think SARU haven’t played straight with super rugby at times average joe. Insisting on home refs is frankly a farce. And the penalty count has been hilarious. Watching the routine of threatening to move north unless demands are met hasn’t helped super rugby. Almost as laughable as the welsh throwing eyes at those across the Severn.
I’m all for the big 4 or 5 saffer teams coming north. But frankly the kings have been a disaster in the pro14. They have devalued the competition. If the big teams come north are we guaranteed the keep their springboks or are they going to pretend to play both us and the kiwis.
If saffers come north they need to be competing to win it ASAP. The roster of players currently there is good enough.
Looks like I’m insulting everyone so I’m keeping to the spirt of the thread. Shud I start calling the eyeties cunts or will someone else carry that can
