Started well, but fell apart later. Still, he wasn't alone in that.
But he's got an awful long way to go to get anywhere near McKenzie or Jordan or Barrett as a 15, in pretty much every area. He needs to get a go at 10 somehow.

DMac got red. They did well with 14 men.Reds played well. The were due a win against NZ teams.
So the most complete fullback in NZ has to stand down because the best NZ fullback in Japan who everyone hates is coming back?
Well, that sucked. Both cards correct but felt sorry for DMac. The other guy ran straight at him - McKenzie started to pull out when the pass was made but didn't have time and the contact was shoulder to head. Always a card but I wonder what would have happened if it was the other way.
I drink and I forget things.

All very true, but on the plus side Trask got the opportunity to show that he's got the skills to play 10 at this level. Which he's almost certainly going to have to do for the next two weeks.Enzedder wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 9:54 pm Well, that sucked. Both cards correct but felt sorry for DMac. He should go down to the Crusaders, we need a decent backup for RM, in fact I would be happy with Perofeta, not like he is going to get a run at 10 with BB coming back. How many 10s do the Blues need, they’ll have 5 on the books next year.Certain Navigator wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 9:42 amStarted well, but fell apart later. Still, he wasn't alone in that.

BB has demanded he only be considered as a 10 only and is refusing point blank to play 15 and I’m only really looking at Sullivan’s potential, he’s not there yet, he’s only played what... 3-4 games of soup rugby but he’s probably favourite to start there next year over Perofeta, imo.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 5:45 pmSo the most complete fullback in NZ has to stand down because the best NZ fullback in Japan who everyone hates is coming back?
There is also Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to consider as well, although I imagine he’ll start out on the wing.
This never happened.Trapper wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 5:31 am

Also, Zarn Sullivan has shown himself a solid presence at the back. Nothing more. Of course, as Blues supporter I will take that with gratitude. But to suggest he's ahead of other players who have shown far more flair and creativity is daft.
First bit was a bit of a joke although he has declared he wants to be viewed as a 10.FujiKiwi wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 6:51 amThis never happened.Trapper wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 5:31 am

I haven’t suggested Sullivan is ahead of others at all, not sure where you get that from? In fact I have said in the very post you quoted that he’s not there yet. But I do think that in time, he is going to be pushing every other 15 very hard because it looks to me at this early stage of his career that he has every tool in the box without added brainfarts. I like him, I make no apologies for that.
In any case, I still haven't seen anything to suggest any "completeness". In fact, all I've seen is a cool head, good positional play and a fine kicking game. Have not seen great defense, pace, acceleration, a step, a swerve. Whatever. In fact, very little X factor at all. That's not to say he doesn't have it. I hope he does.Trapper wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 4:49 pm
I reckon he’s the most complete Fullback currently running around in NZ. All the others have a flaw or two. Sullivan seems to have it all on a cool head.
Make of it what you will but I never said he should be an All Black mate.FujiKiwi wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 12:16 amIn any case, I still haven't seen anything to suggest any "completeness". I think Samisoni Tuakei’ahi is the form hooker running around at the moment as well but that doesn’t mean I think he is ahead of Coles, Taylor or even Aumua.
Keep trying to pretend that these games might be close, maybe you’ll convince someone.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
