I don't think it was self inflicted. What is a 6'5 second row meant to do when tackling a 5'8 player who is going down?
Skinner is hinged at the hips - not upright. He tried to wrap. Nothing he can do differently next time except not tackle FdK

That's a rather favourable still that doesn't include the moment or point of contact.
Watching the whole thing he's really not that low when he hits. Possibly still one of the more borderline calls, but he 100% could have been lower to make his tackle:

Re: the Eggchasers tweet, one option is not to double up the tackle on a smaller man who's already been tackled by a team mate, but to remain in the defensive line to tackle a different player or get up into the passing lane.

I said "somewhat" because he was a little unlucky as it is big man on tiny man. The angles they showed on TV suggested it was a clear red card. Faf being short and slightly dropping isn't mitigation for a full shoulder to the head. Any player aiming to tackle around the chest (i assume that was the plan) is leaving themselves open to getting it wrong and having clear contact with force to the head.I like neeps wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 2:52 pmI don't think it was self inflicted. If I'm counting this correctly, there will be no ProXX/URC games on international weekends, and break weeks before / after internationals.

Kevin did a vis on twitter that's pretty helpful. His is a guess but looks fairly similar. He starts a couple of weeks later than you - are your dates guesses or based on released dates?Biffer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 10:33 am If I'm counting this correctly, there will be no ProXX/URC games on international weekends, and break weeks before / after internationals.

I'm just assuming start of September as that's pretty normal. No Lions for the first few weeks, maybe a month.KingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 1:12 pmKevin did a vis on twitter that's pretty helpful. His is a guess but looks fairly similar. One thing that is slightly unideal is the u20 6N finishes in July and the super6 starts two weeks later.
Not much time at all for the players to be acclimated. What about preseason for the pro clubs too? They'll want good turnout and will be quite demanding as the coaches are under pressure for a good season.

Hogg on the bench for Exeter's semi final...
Jonny is back in the 2nd row after a few weeks off
Good. Its not always the most balanced coverage but considering just a couple of years ago you'd be lucky to get both pro teams broadcast on the same weekend I'm quite happy with it. A bonus they're doing the Top14 too.
I agree, it’s sometimes a bit rubbish but for a tenner a month you can’t complain

He’s got some weight in those carries right enough.
Ireland were more than a bit spawny with the second try, smacked him right in the kisser and shot forward, he couldn’t have grubbered it better
It was a poor attempt at a clearance, mind
Yeah, bit of a freak try.
So I squares up, casual like.
