The Rainbow Cup was a meaningless competition as soon as the restrictions were brought in, the teams up here used it as a good excuse to blood young players, build for the future.

Rainbow Cup was a test run for the United Cup (PRO16) running from Sept 2020 to June 2021.

The teams will be back to normal for the league next year, ie the United Rugby Championship, there is European rugby to qualify for and the league itself to play for.
