Come on, man. It is a training match against a currie cup side... dont get too excitedOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 5:44 pm Great stuff from the Lions. They,ll give the Boks a hiding.

Massively disappointing outcome for the Sharks.
Jaden Hendrikse is a moron. He will have to wise up if he is going to advance his career. Massive talent, but terrible temperament. Sharks were in the game until he lost his head.
I hope it haunts him for the rest of his career so he can cut this shit out. If he can't adapt, I hope he stays with the Sharks.
Lions still far from the finished article. Sharks exposed a lot. But just cranking up the intensity and being physical and direct, a Currie Cup B-team was able to stay in the match for 45 minutes.
Even an undercooked Bok team will be more aggressive and more intense than this Shark team. Lions look dangerous out wide, but up front I haven't really seen much that concerns me TBH.

Agree with a lot of what you say, but it’s also difficult for the Lions to generate intensity against teams they are beating 50+ in empty grounds.Blake wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 6:58 pm Massively disappointing outcome for the Sharks.

It all seems pretty farcical to be honest and I don’t think we will really know anything until the tests kick off

They lack a lot of intensity when they were under pressure in the first half.
That's why I like little Hendrikse play. He was all over the Lions in that half. Unfortunately over do it in the 2nd half.
The Springbokke will be in their face for 80 minutes.
The scoreline isn't good but the signs are there for the Bok coaching staff.
Ah man, what could have been. Fantastic first half from the Sharks, and I was beginning to be believe. If we had scored first in the second half, it could have been game on.
Utterly ridiculous from Jaden. It will definitely haunt him for the rest of his career, I hope it's a turning point for him. I've never seen that side of him, so I just hope it was the adrenaline from the half time talk rather than a nasty streak. He was playing so vokken well before then, and what he did was so unnecessary.
Big games from Kok, Pepsi and Richardson. Best I've seen from Volmink too. Our pack really fronted up and pushed them at every contact, something the Boks can take heart from. Cronje wasn't great, but still a damn side better than Bosch. Abrahams is going to have to front up on defence if he's going to go anywhere.
Despite the score, I think the Sharks can take a lot of heart from the game. Guys like Pepsi and Kok have just played two games against the Lions in four days, not many people can claim that.
Well done Lions. Didn't panic and stuck to their plans in the 2nd half. I certainly hope Hill starts in the test as he looks like a red card waiting to happen. Bullied a lot of players off the ball, but he'll meet his match in the tests. Outstanding games from vd Merwe and Watson, those two look deadly.

He does it all the time. He shoved a Lions player off the ball for no reason earlier in the game. In the Bulls - Sharks final last year he was carrying on too.

That's what you need from a scrumhalf. He must be irritating and busy all the time.
Vok he was in the rucks, everywhere on defense.
Being an annoying little poes is fine, rile up the opposition, but there’s a right way and a wrong way to do it.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 8:29 amThat's what you need from a scrumhalf. He must be irritating and busy all the time.

And also, you don’t have to do it. The bests know they are the best and just play well. Fourie du Preez never needed that nonsense. He just did the business.
Faf does it, but he’s not dirty. Hendrickse needs to wind his neck in. The purpose should be to let your opponent lose their head trying to get back at you; not for you to lose your head and cripple your team.

Hendrikse is still young. He,ll learn from it. At least he show the mentality
Quite correct. Needs to leave the saarks. History repeating itself. Butch James like behaviour.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 10:28 am Hendrikse is still young. He,ll learn from it. At least he show the mentality
Springboks, Stormers and WP supporter.
No problem with a bit of niggle. I love it in a scrummy.
But obviously there is a line that he shouldn't cross, which he did.

It was a rush of oxygen to his brain....listen , he was in scintilating form before that so the BILs got lucky...none of the replacements could bring his mongrel to the park. He kept them honest , his kicking out of hand was good and he played well. Cant ask for more. Him leaving was pivotal.Blake wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 8:40 amBeing an annoying little poes is fine, rile up the opposition, but there’s a right way and a wrong way to do it.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 8:29 amThat's what you need from a scrumhalf. Well done to the Sharks for the first half...always thought they were in it.
Our Kolbe #2 was absolutely pathetic on defense. Which worries me about the original version if faced with Duhan....he made metres for fun.

Meh! Nothing compared to what Bakkies, Schalk etc got up to and they're folk heroes. There are just more camera angles to capture it now. He's by far the most promising scrum half prospect in the country. He has the tools but not yet the temperament and experience to be a superstar. I don't like the indiscipline but I love the mongrel and fire in him.

Well, you could ask for more. You could ask him not to be a prick who gets himself sent off and fucks up his team’s chances.Sards wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 6:01 amIt was a rush of oxygen to his brain....listen , he was in scintilating form before that so the BILs got lucky...none of the replacements could bring his mongrel to the park. And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
He's a kid. He made a mistake. He has expressed remorse and will live with that red card for the rest of his life. What more do you want? Shall we all go onto his social media accounts and abuse him?
He is a kid....give him a break.....although someone could have doid from that horrendous elbow ........my word it was so so hardBiffer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:03 amWell, you could ask for more. They probably got him drunk after the match.......
Sadly some of my fellow South Africans would rather win the fight than the game.Biffer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:03 amWell, you could ask for more.
