The blonde slug has 'not shown accountability required of those in public life', says parliament's standards commissioner...................no shit!!!
Mr Johnson’s holiday took place in December 2019 and January 2020. I would have expected him, before he arrived on the island of Mustique, to find out definitively who was to fund the free accommodation he had been offered, and what arrangements had been made to pay for it. He needed to have this information before he decided whether it was right to accept this benefit, and so that full details could be registered within 28 days ...
It has been unusually difficult to find facts during this lengthy investigation. After an inquiry lasting more than a year, I have not found any reliable documentary that clearly outlines the arrangements for how Mr Johnson’s holiday accommodation was paid. I am therefore not able to reach a view on whether Mr Johnson’s register entry was accurate and complete
The rules require members to fulfil “conscientiously” the requirement of the House in respect of the registration of interests in the register of members’ financial interests. Because he did not make sufficient inquiries to establish the full facts about the funding arrangements for his free accommodation, either before his holiday, as he should have done, or in 2020, I find that Mr Johnson has not fulfilled conscientiously the house’s requirements for registration. I find that this is a breach of paragraph 14 of the code of conduct. I also find that Mr Johnson has not shown the accountability required of those in public life

What does everyone reckon the Tory MP Lee Anderson who is refusing to watch England games because they take the knee is planning to do with his day on Sunday?

Someone didn't get the "FFS don't criticise Marcus Rashford" e-mail!!

The Conservative MP Natalie Elphicke has apologised after suggesting that Marcus Rashford should have spent more time “perfecting his game” than “playing politics”.
As PA Media reports, Elphicke made the comment in a WhatsApp message to fellow Tory MPs after the footballer missed a penalty in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday night. Referring to Rashford’s successful campaigns to get to extend free school meal provision for children from poor families, which twice led to government U-turns, and Rashford’s miss in the penalty shoot-out at the end of the Euro 2020 final,

That odious little tit Darren Grimes said basically the same thing and got a well deserved shoeing from the folks of Twitter.

Fuck me, it says something about the society we live in that the second reaction to a black player missing a penalty is, "That poor sod better not look at social media for a while". Rashford's mural got defaced as well.

And the absolute nerve of Johnson et al condemning the shithead racists they have courted, encouraged and helped to prosper.

I wonder will they belatedly be going after failing Grayling; for this exact same offense ?

Except in his case they was a crystal clear reason why it was manifestly improper for a former Minister to be consulting for a Port; when he'd just left a Ministry that was throwing money around like snuff at a wake ... including to Ports !

It’s kind of football mentality , Beckham had a doll hanging by a noose when he got sent off. Racially abusing a player is not on (and yes that’s coming from me) but Rashfords penalty was awful and he does like a tweet so it’s hard for me to get outraged by those politician tweets, especially as it will backfire and just get more support for the school meals thing.

The world is just too easily upset now, especially over (anti) social media.

Rashford sent the keeper the wrong way and hit the post. Ball goes 10cm to the right, a tiny difference in degree kicking it, and everyone would be saying how cool and collected he was.

One rule for them................
Great spot from Guido’s Christian Calgie, who found that MPs on the parliamentary estate will only be “encouraged” to wear masks, while staffers “will be required to wear them.” You what? Huff Post’s Paul Waugh has more, with a spokesperson for Commons Speaker Lindsay Hoyle telling him: “We have no employment or contractual relationship with Members which would enable us to mandate the wearing of masks.” So we have a situation where parliament will force junior aides and those cleaning and serving food to wear masks to protect MPs, but won’t make MPs wear masks to protect those same staff. If you ever needed yet another example of how parliament is run in the interests of MPs over junior staff, with farcical tin-eared ineptitude from the government and House authorities, here it is.

Yeah, it's been bothering me a lot that the almost instant reaction at the end of the game was "fuck, those boys are going to get abuse", it's awful.

It was interesting to hear Southgate say yesterday that a lot of the abuse was coming from abroad and he was talking with the police about that. I've never taken "foreign interference" that seriously regarding social media, but it's abviously having a big impact.

Well, who'd have thought it?
Top story from the Telegraph’s Chris Hope, who says ministers and officials in No. 10 and the Cabinet Office are able to dodge isolation when pinged by taking part in a “trial” made famous by Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove skipping quarantine when he returned from watching the football in Portugal. “Several officials in 10 Downing Street have been able to use the scheme to return to work immediately after being notified by the NHS Covid-19 app,” Chopper reports. They’ll be hoping none of the parents of the 830,000 children currently at home isolating see this story.

That tweet should be framed in the British museum.

As it is when politics get involved in sports - poppies for example, or this sh*te Brexit metaphor - weapons like Rosindell are fully supportive.

What an absolute helmet that man is.

You just know how the "levelling up" funding is going to work!
Labour has raised concerns about the management of a flagship levelling up scheme after it emerged that decisions about one local £24m fund were primarily led by a group including the local MP, her husband, and others with personal or business links to some of the plans.
Documents also show that the towns fund board for Stocksbridge in South Yorkshire, co-chaired by Conservative MP Miriam Cates, met for eight months before members began filing details of personal interests, and that the scheme of governance was only published after more than a year.
As well as Cates, her husband, David, also sits on the board, and a local businessman, Ian Sanderson, a business partner of David Cates.
The co-chair is Mark Dransfield, a local property developer from whom Miriam Cates rents her constituency office. He owns a retail park in Stocksbridge directly adjoining two of the proposed local regeneration schemes. Dransfield’s sister-in-law, who formerly worked for his company, sits on a subcommittee.

“GB News attracted zero viewers during some of its broadcasts this week, according to official television audience figures produced by rating agency Barb, after a viewer boycott prompted by one of its presenters taking the knee in solidarity with the England football team.

The channel has now said the decision of Guto Harri to make the on-air gesture on Tuesday in solidarity against the racist abuse suffered by English players was “an unacceptable breach of our standards”.

A GB News spokesperson declined to say whether Harri, a former spokesperson for Boris Johnson, was still with the channel.

Business editor Liam Halligan and former Labour MP Gloria De Piero attracted no measurable audience to their show between 1pm and 1.30pm on Wednesday afternoon. During the same timeslot the BBC News channel attracted 62,000 viewers, while Sky News had 50,000 people watching.”
