Will Jordan has almost single handedly saved Foster. He’s going to have to live with that responsibility for a long time.
Jordan out.

Where in the backline will Foster shoe horn in Jordan? My bet is 2nd five.ScarfaceClaw wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 12:35 pm Will Jordan has almost single handedly saved Foster. He’s going to have to live with that responsibility for a long time.

10. Aaron Smith (not having any luck with current playmaker configuration)
11. B Barrett (can't drop him and not good at 10 and 15)
12. Jordan (must put him in somewhere, but need to manage the Crusader backline quota)
13. R Ioane (He will get it right soon)
14. J Barrett (It's worked so well so far, on the verge on brilliance I can tell)
15. Clark (Needs a change)

That’s just daft. Snecky will never start at 10. He’s got fullback all but nailed down. Jordon will start at blindside.Ymx wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 12:49 pmWhere in the backline will Foster shoe horn in Jordan? Despite the score, and Fozzie maybe breathing a little easier, I don't think that game showed us anything about Fozzie to change the perception he is anything but mediocre.
Argies didn't fire a shot apart from pretty good defence, and the AB backs were pretty clueless when it came to intelligent play and constructing opportunities.
5/10.

Yeah the All Blacks had a good win despite Foster being at the helm, not because of it.

Are you seriously suggesting Foster is out of the woods on the back of this one decent performance, Enz?
It was far from a vintage year.

I think it’s nice that Ian Foster has at least one fan.

If you and your Waikato mate are happy with a P6 W 3 L2 D1 record for the season then good luck to you, because that's not the All Blacks I know.
Three of those six performances were unacceptable for a team of this calibre.
If that's "not really knowing" rugby then it's amazing how many people share that view - many of whom have storied rugby backgrounds themselves.
I'm not happy with Foster - never have been. I was taking you to task for your daft puerile comment.
You sound like you glory in a loss so that you can say "I told you so" - true internet warrior. In turn, I want the team to do well, including Foster.

Daft puerile comment? If I have misjudged Ian Foster on the strength of his side's performances to date then I humbly apologise.
I don't think I have, however. His side has looked listless and lacking in direction.
That they finally put together an aggressive performance that put paid to a largely second string Argentina is hardly a ringing endorsement of him as a master tactician.
And I always back an AB side to the hilt, regardless of who is coaching them.
Yes, but that performance did not deserve your "in spite of him" comment as well. I will stick with my description which was about you, not Foster.
Sam Cane is correct.
p.s. I am not sure it was a great performance by the team - by the forwards yes but the backs were not that good.

So John Kirwan doesn't know much about rugby either?Enzedder wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 4:17 am Yes, but that performance did not deserve your "in spite of him" comment as well. I will stick with my description which was about you, not Foster.

Because he basically said the same thing.
Cane might not like to admit it, but his team isn't up to normal AB standard.

Stole this from FB, posted on PR as well.
Ian Foster asked Mario Ledesma after the the loss to Argentina on Saturday —”Mario I thought I had the journey planned, how did you beat me?”
“Pretty simple,” replied Mario, “I picked my players for their intelligence and asked them just one question.” “That simple?” said Foster. “Yep,” replied Mario, “pick one of my squad and see how he does.”
Ian Foster thought for a while then nominated Nicholas Sanchez. Mario called him over and asked him, “Who is the child of your father and of your mother who is not your brother and is not your sister?” “Ah simple, Mario ,” said Nicholas, “it’s me.”
“Well done, Nicholas,” said Mario, and Foster was very impressed. He returned to the hotel and wondered about the intelligence of his team. He called in Sam Cane and asked him, “Who is the child of your father and of your mother who is not your brother and is not your sister?” Sam thought and thought, and couldn’t come up with the answer. “Can I think about it a bit more Coach?—I’ll give you an answer tomorrow.”
“Of course,” said Foster, “you’ve got 24 hours. But it is very important that you come up with the answer.”
Sam went away, thinking as hard as he could, and then he called in his team-mates. Aaron Smith thought it might be his grandpa, but wasn’t sure. TJ Perenara was certain that it couldn’t be anyone. Richie Mo'unga refused to answer, in case he would be dropped for not knowing.
Akira Ioane thought it would be an uncle in Samoa who had been adopted as a child. Jordie Barrett went into the foetal position. The rest of the team wouldn’t even hazard a guess. Twenty hours later, Sam was very worried that he still had no answer with only four hours to go. Eventually Sam thought, “I know, I’ll ring Beauden Barrett —he’s bloody smart, he’ll know the answer.”
He phoned Beauden Barrett. “Beauden, tell me—who is the child of your father and of your mother who is not your brother and is not your sister?” “Very simple,” said Beauden, “It’s me.” “Of course,” said Sam, and rang Ian Foster. “Coach, I’ve got the answer—it’s Beauden Barrett!”
“No, you idiot,” said Ian Foster, “It’s Nicholas Sanchez. ”
What a shambles.
We were no better with our handling from last week.
Our forwards were glory seekers. Saveas leadership and that try dive was telling.
We need Sam Whitelock back in captain to change the energy of our team.
Again the only player who had a good game was Jordie Barrett.

I was trying to see if I could identify the pattern Foster was wanting the team to play but couldn't for the fuck of me see anything even close to resembling a pattern of play.Ymx wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 12:11 pm What a shambles.

Have to defend Fozzie here, the Boks were very smart and the officials were complete shit. It's a rite of passage for new All Blacks coaches to lose ugly to them, not the end of the road. This has been a much better sophomore year than I expected, so far. Glass half full, imho.
I guess we won more than 50% if you mean glass half full.Gumboot wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 12:53 pm Have to defend Fozzie here, the Boks were very smart and the officials were complete shit. Perhaps your expectations are a little low though.
