These are supposedly coming out in NZ next month. The government has signalled you will need one to attend festivals and large event in the Summer but who knows if that is going to happen.Calculon wrote: Wed Oct 06, 2021 8:12 pm So when do people think we are going to start using our digital vaccination certificates ?

I am very tempted to get a ticket for the bafana game if it is open, even though i find SA soccer games in general a but unbearable to watch related to playing style and skill. But it would be so damn good to be in a sports crowd again.
Are you sure you have the correct ground?
If I'm up in Josburg when the Indians are there, we can maybe rustle up Saucy and make a day of it.
[Edit- just seen your response to Sauce' post - no worries]

Vaccination rate is depressing.
An interesting site.
19,348,079 vaccine doses administered for COVID-19 in South Africa, currently at rate of about 1.33/second or 115,022 each day. That is about 32.2 doses per hundred people (~60.04 million). At this rate, South Africa could have 70% of people vaccinated (2 doses) in 563 days (or by Apr 29, 2023).

The only way we're going to fix that is if we start mandating vaccines.FalseBayFC wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 6:43 amVaccination rate is depressing.

Figures look really good. Hope it stay like this after the voting.
Start of the fourth wave?

Out of a management team of 5, only 2 of us are vaccinated.
It seems that the others are to scared to have the vaccine or believe that there is something in it that is bad for them according to their religious leaders.

I think we are all looking very hard at you guys right now. Can you contain this bastard? (Will your government even try?)OomStruisbaai wrote: Thu Nov 25, 2021 9:18 pm New variant aswell. We are going on the UK red list. What a vokop.

Whether they'll be successful is another matter with an over religious population refusing to take vaccination and eschewing precautions in favour of religious gatherings is another matter.

This new variant has most likely been in the wild for some time now. There's a good chance its already in Europe and the USA. Still loads of international flights leaving Joburg and Cape Town many of them to Doha and Dubai. Those hubs will distribute it around the world.
The South African government doesn't have the means or the will to contain anything at this point. We're in economic damage control mode.

You are seriously naive if you think the variant has not already been spread across Europe and the UK already. No need to put us on a red list, the world will have to deal with this variant togetherEnzedder wrote: Fri Nov 26, 2021 3:44 amI think we are all looking very hard at you guys right now. It’s illegal to go outside your home or workplace without a mask. R1000 on the spot fine. Not many other countries are doing that.Enzedder wrote: Fri Nov 26, 2021 3:44 amI think we are all looking very hard at you guys right now. Can you contain this bastard? My mate got one in Fish Hoek on Monday. Walked 6ft from his shop entrance to the bin on a lamppost to chuck away his empty coffee cup.
