Rattling rollercoaster to end Eng-NZ warmup.
Situation absolutely hopeless with NZ 9 down and miles short, but Sodhi's expression from the start was one of "I'm serious about going for the impossible."

Gotta laugh. The Lankans among those who wanted to kill off Tests to focus on pyjama stuff and they are sh*t at it.Insane_Homer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 2:17 pm SL 9/3 and it's not even the end of the second over. deep the shit early on against Ireland.

Afghanistan could be on course to smesh West Indies. 190 to win and West Indies lose a wicket with the second delivery.
What would be the bigger upset:
Scotland beating Bangladesh or Afghanistan beating the West Indies?

Way back in the day (1968?) Ireland beat the West Indies (Sobers and all) in a one-dayer, with speculation the Windies were spiked by either the whiskey or the Colleens.

Story I’ve always heard is that the night before the match the Windies were introduced to the Ireland team who took them on the mother of all pub crawls. Windies arrive at the ground the next day to find an entirely different Ireland XI warming up. May be apocryphal

Like all these things, they get some gilding over time. It was '69 and the Windies flew out to the game immediately having played Eng at Lords. By the time they got to Ireland, their hotel had no restaurant open and they were knackered. They did not field a 1st team. It was still arguably the greatest upset in the game: certainly then.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 4:35 pmSion Mills.convoluted wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 4:15 pm Way back in the day (1968?) The speculation I referred to came at the time, though was probably a light-hearted explanation for the unthinkable.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 4:55 pm Like all these things, they get some gilding over time. I recall another cataclysmic result: maybe 1964 Holland beat Bobby Simpsons Aussies in what must have been one of the very first international one-day games ... the vagaries of abbreviated cricket.

Well - Jade Dernbach just helped Italy grab a win over Germany.
Germany needed 14 off the last over bowled by Jadey lad.....and he managed to only ship 12 runs. Funny where folk end up.

So Proteas will go into Game 4 with two losses, 1 win and that match against some in-form minnow will be Must Win.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 8:03 am T20 World Cup Schedule and Fixtures of South Africa:

At least the chance of us being screwed by the rain is low this tournament.
I'm setting myself up massively again for a fall here. Cannot help but get invested.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 12:08 pmSo Proteas will go into Game 4 with two losses, 1 win and that match against some in-form minnow will be Must Win.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 8:03 am T20 World Cup Schedule and Fixtures of South Africa:

Will PNG overhaul the defeat margin of Windies losing to Pak in 2017/18?

No way SA are losing against that West Indies team. And I wouldn't put Australia as favourites against them either.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 12:08 pmSo Proteas will go into Game 4 with two losses, 1 win and that match against some in-form minnow will be Must Win.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 8:03 am T20 World Cup Schedule and Fixtures of South Africa:
