I 100% agree with you that refs need protection and Erasmus was in the wrong here. That said, WR have to do something about simplifying the game and interpretation of the laws for both the sake of the spectator, players and ref. We're all in agreement that you can find multiple potential sanctions from both teams at nearly every ruck/tackle/fuckup.

The South African Rugby Union should leave World Rugby and join Rugby League, lock stock and barrel. It's got everything South Africans want from rugby, a simple game with simple rules, high shots are still permitted, you'd be virtually guaranteed to reach the RLWC final every time and RL fans will welcome you as they've got nothing else going for them.
