Shirley any right minded person would support Berry.
When do World Rugby string up Rassie Erasmus?
I am trying to guage the support Rassie will receive from other nations. The Aussies aren't in. We know the feelings of the NH.
I doubt the Kiwis will take any side.
I reckon Rassie is on his own here......
Well, this is exactly the point isn't it.
So Rassie sacrifices himself, and thereby the Springboks, to help the inept ref see the error of his ways.
Hopefully World Rugby has counseled Berry, sent him on more courses and equipped him to become a more competent ref, who won't blow so shit anymore.
Just look at how the death threats and complaints from New Zealand made Wayne Barnes a better ref.

And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
I’d actually like to see the refs boycotting officiating SA games until there is a full apology from Rassie and SA Rugby. Let’s see how the Bokke get on without any refsChilli wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 5:01 amWell, this is exactly the point isn't it.

Didn't death threats gets sent by post before? They have sadly always been a thing, social media just exposes it more.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 2:26 pmThat's a pretty facile comparison. I think what they want is to ban us from international rugby again. They just hate to see us at no.1.

Although that would be quite funny tbf
All the money you made will never buy back your soul
You see most of the rugby world was delighted to see SA win the World Cup with a black captain and a representative team, but you’ve gone and ruined it with the spoilt brat schtickFalseBayFC wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 8:29 am I think what they want is to ban us from international rugby again. You've not read the Berry impact statement have you.
Just admit that you don't think Erasmus has done anything wrong. At least then we know where you stand. Berry that then pretending.

If you were a ref would you want what's happening to Berry to happen to you?
Don't forget, Erasmus released this video after Berry responded in full to his request anyway.
Don't give a fuck who is the No 1 team in the world is particularly as it's unlikely to be England in the forseeable future.FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 8:29 am I think what they want is to ban us from international rugby again. They just hate to see us at no.1.
It would be nice to see the cunt Erasmus apologise for what he's done
But no, He's just going to waste more money that SARU haven't got on lawyers for an appeal he won't win.

As a Saffer I feel Erasmus went too far and was wrong in doing the video. The other gamesmanship was roughly on par with what some other international coaches do and have done. But I also love what Rassie has done for our team and the sport of rugby in our country.Kawazaki wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 8:35 am

He will go down as a coaching great who made some missteps. And I hope that Berry emerges with his mental health intact,

Why won't Erasmus apologise to Berry?
Why doesn't he try to stop the relentless online hate?
Yep; that's the part that grinds my gears.
I was pretty deep in Rassie's camp up until all this evidence got exposed that contradicts a lot of what Rassie was claiming.
The evidence shows now that Rassie got the answers to his video Monday evening. That should have been the end of it.
He created the impression that the officials were dodging them and their questions surrounding the questionable calls up until Wednesday. This then left them "no choice" but to go nuclear and release the video as they were hampered in their preparation for the next test without feedback. I didn't like it at the time, but given the alleged lack of cooperation to what seemed like a reasonable request, made me think the actions were somewhat justified. That it would at least force some reform at WR to expedite referee reviews.
This hole narrative has now been exposed as bullshit. I still like Rassie and support him as our DoR, but he fucked up big time here. He needs to man up, stop the kicking, screaming and deviance. He needs to take his punishment like a man, apologise Nick Berry and also to the fans and sit on his naughty chair for a couple of months. Any light justification that might have existed for what he did is well and truly been exposed as non-existent.

Length.
And you can only post hate mail if you know their postal address.
And if you wanted to just vent, it wasn't anywhere with a permanent record of your venting that encouraged and sustained more people doing the same.
There's really no comparison.

Fantastic post. I just wish you could be heard by thousands of your countrymen who still believe the bolded narrative like it's carved in stone.
The problem is the damage is done. And Erasmus is reveling in this.

Ja I must admit that now seeing the timings of events, Rassie is definitely on the wrong side here. Not sure what made him do it; perhaps that Berry admitted to have gotten a considerable number of calls wrong.
I hope SA fans take some time to read what has been released, instead of relying on tweet-sized nuggets of information to form their opinion.

Enjoy the game, boet.
Nic Berry sums it up well in relation to what happened to him.
Erasmus is toxic. Absolute poison now as far as I'm concerned. I find it incredible that SARU are standing with him. I find it incredible that none of the big ex-Springbok faces has not said a word in support of Berry.
This is a very bleak time for rugby. We're supposed to be better than this. I hate what Erasmus has done to my fucking game.
Was just about to post that. The last sentence is the killer.Kawazaki wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 10:18 am

Yeah, this is similar to how I feel, and I also agree with Blake's post. Rassie should take his punishment and have a rest. Whatever his motives, I do think releasing that video helped the Springboks in the second and third tests.assfly wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 9:29 amJa I must admit that now seeing the timings of events, Rassie is definitely on the wrong side here. Then don't watch. Nobody is forcing you.
It's been one day since the ruling and you've ruled that it will never go away? Get a grip
The cunt is appealing. You know what happened now. You know the timeline. And he's still appealing. And with the full support of SARU. What on earth makes you think this will go away?
These things do. Look what Lance Armstrong did to cycling. That's a distant memory. Look what Hansie did to Cricket. That's a memory. Look what Dean Richards did to Harlequins. That's a memory. Hell, the bruises on Sevu Reece's wife hadn't even disappeared yet and he was playing for the All Blacks again.
It's been obvious from the beginning. At least to me. The problem with Saffers is that they go all in and react emotionally instead of just thinking about it. And of course our biggest problem. The victim mentalityassfly wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 9:29 amJa I must admit that now seeing the timings of events, Rassie is definitely on the wrong side here. Every time an exceptional cyclist comes along, there's all sorts who start chucking drug allegations about.
Every time there's an unusual result in cricket, there's all sorts who start chucking betting allegations about.
I've seen Exeter fans chucking bloodgate back at Quins fans who question their racist branding
And Sevu Reece is a fucking arsehole and the AB's seem to not give a shit about that kind of thing from their players.

In all those instances, the people involved at the centre weren't the first an won't be the last. It's not like Rassie was the first DoR to push the line with the refs, although he took it to a new level. This time next year it will be something differentBiffer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 11:58 am Is it though?

I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness of what he's done, but let's be level-headed about the impact. This is not the end of rugby ffs.
