They'll reschedule, plenty of gaps.
If they are putting a country on the red list I can't see that changing for a few months.
Reviewing in 3 weeks time
Maybe so, but in the real world they are not putting a country on the red list for 3 weeks then dropping it. Can't see that happening.

At least with the European cup games and Christmas games coming up that give a bit of time for you to come off the red list before it starts affecting more fixtures.

I assume that they will bring forward all the South African home derbies, they have to play each other home and away and rearrange the rest of the tournament somehow.

FFS. Can't help but feel this is a slight overreaction.

Europe has much higher infection rates than South Africa.
I remember similar scaremongering with the Delta variant.
If it's as infectious as they say it is, it's probably already widespread.

I’ve just been told that the rest of Europe is following with a ban announcement later this afternoon. This is not going away in 3 weeks

Youd hope so and to arrive before 4:00 am Sunday
Otherwise according to Javid earlier
We won’t do anything to help them get back before this deadline. Because I think anyone who’s in South Africa, the best thing to do is to come back after 4am on Sunday and go into hotel quarantine.

Lovely Try by Connacht; but windy tonight, & the first missed kick.

5 - 0

Nice to see a team in Green beating up a team all in Black

18 - 11 HT

Connacht playing all the Rugby, & will have the wind in the 2nd half; & it feels like a 7-10pt breeze.

Classic Galway weather, 3-4C, but with the wind it feels like 0C, & it's pissing rain. The only way to stave off hypothermia, is to keep running; I actually saw one of the wingers doing star jumps at one stage.

So cold now we're getting knock ons because the players can't feel their fingers.

I'm so glad I'm watching this at home in front of the fire

That's a ridiculous decision; but by the letter of the law correct.

Ospreys wing makes a try saving tackle; that turns into a seatbelt tackle; TMO steps in, & when the Ref reviews; it becomes a penalty, 1m out, no other defenders; so PT, & YC.

32 - 18 to Connacht

You don't often see a cross-field kick to a hooker .... but that was almost a sublime try

Thanks FF. I was so upset by the Covid situation that I completely forgot about last night's game.

We have been blessed that the Springboks could play this year and should never take any rugby game for granted.

There are a lot of Politicians in Europe, who; justifiably got flogged over being too slow to react to the delta variant; & as a result huge numbers of people got infected.

This reaction is just a normal response to that. If, after some study, the new variant isn't as bad as feared; I think they'll unlock quickly.

The variant was identified by SA scientists. It doesn't mean that it only occurs in SA, or that it originated in SA.

It is all over the world.

They had to do something; & be seen to do something..... but that doesn't necessarily mean that what they did would make sense !

Just turned on Treviso - Weegies and it sounds a low quality affair.

And Treviso win it courtesy of the boot of their teenage fly half with the last kick of the match.

Balls on that kid to kick the winner. Camera angles made it look 80m.

Benetton home games rarely finish predictably, fair play to them.
