Great post KeithGaltsdrift wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 8:18 amI am realistic, they have played beyond my expectations to get to this stage. The club is small, it would be like Ireland winning the world cup if they went up. We have to be realistic.
I find myself here from The Forum365
From John Galt on 365 about npr.
The other one reminds me of the old top gear presenters. It's like a clique of dad jokes and I now read the posts picturing them as aged has beens like that. The forum name will never draw new traffic and will just become an ever decreasing bubble for those who migrated. One by one they will fade away and not be replaced and eventually if will die. I note it is busier then the rugby forum here for now though.
What has them so afraid of this place, the lack of control of the gate keys or do they not want to mix with the football fans?
Either way. If you don’t like it here, farewell.went over to the other forum and had a snoop around. The posters seem friendly enough but the place has very little activity. I did ask them if they had played soggy biscuit, which is some rugby lads fav game. I noticed the forum is called the bear pit which is consistent with constant tipping of hats to a loose gay connection.
I might join the other one now, the original forum, the mothership, and see what is in store there. Overall people were polite and I wish the platform well.
Interesting that he chose to associate Bear Pit with some sort of gay activity, says more about him than this place I would suggest. Just to help though here is a dictionary definition which perfectly describes the metaphor.

I didn't realise the football forum were discussing the rugby forum. I used to read the football forum 15 years ago, it was good that it had a lot of traffick but it was too difficult to keep up on who is who etc. I think part of the charm of rugby forums is that you'd know enough about most posters that you don't need ask where they stand on certain things. At the same time there are enough posters to have variety.

Sounds like they were talking about English rugger fans. Seems spot on tbf.Dismal Pillock wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 8:46 amWFT. The soccer guys haaaaaaaate us over there. Or they hate me anyway. Nonstop barrage of hostile belittlement. "They drink their own piss". They eat sperm". "Hooray Harrys" (?). "Posh school bum boofers" etc etc. Pointless even trying to interact with them.
Site is only worthwhile as an ethnographic field trip study into what happens to the herdmind of pommy soccer fans when they take their impotent feral aggro from the terraces and pubs and jack it in to the realm of online anonymity. It's not pretty.

I then started reading the Planet Rugby site.
Nice to meet you TB63.

So is PR.
I've given up on the place. The adverts popping up everywhere makes it borderline unusable.
but what makes it unreadable is that a few tedious eejits take over any thread of any promise with slanging matches, usually on nationalistic/sectarian lines. Long may they stay away from here.Butterfingers wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 11:16 amSo is PR.

The adverts issue on PR is often fixable - I haven't seen an ad in years.Butterfingers wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 11:16 amSo is PR.

Haha, slippery slope...
Don't actually know. Went to log on one day and got a screen informing me I was indefinitely banned. I probably deserved it tbf.
It'll have been something I posted in jest that some touchy soul took seriously and reported me. Bannings are a regular occurrence there. In fact, lots of the threads ON forum365 are ABOUT forum365. Full of drama that place.
Fuck off you utter peasant!!Muttonbird wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 8:53 amJohn Galt is totally correct though. PR and NPR is full of aged conservatives. 365 is altogether a lot younger and more vital. Their picture of Rugby is through an English lens. Their picture of Rugby is of a Tory sport for the land owners and elites. And PR with its Opensides, EDFs, Mick Mannocks and Dumbots only reinforces that.

f365 has some quite bizarro hair trigger attitudes towards racism. Anything even mentioning someone of a different ethnicity will be broken down and reconstrued as "racism".
