Not wagging enough!! 219 all out, 107 behind
No chance of an England win (or even draw) from here

Loads of time left in the game, and the pitch doing plenty already. Looks like another England defeat in the first game of a series.

Stokes drops one that should've been Roots. Damnit.

Think Babar might be on for a decent score in this innings. He's the class act of the two sides with the bat

It's been gripping stuff all day today. Batting looking really hard against Bess at the moment.

Right I am going to whisper this because it feels disrespectful but is Jimmy A a problem for Root and England? Wicketless in 9 of his last 20 innings, one wicket or less in 13 or 14 of them.

Woakes and Archer are probably better versions of themselves with the new ball and are being left to 1st and 2nd change. I also don't think England use Archer well but that is another matter.

So, is Jimmy the odd one out when Stokes is fit to bowl?

This is top quality test cricket.

Pakistan could be gone for 120 or could get 200.

If its the first then a good knock from Root, Stokes or even Pope / Si ley / Burns of 80 odd will get them close.

If it's the second, then it'll need two of them to do that which isn't likely against this attack on this wicket.

Proper Test Match cricket. This is glorious.

Great work by slimline Sibley for the runout. Still reckon Pakistan are favourites but England still in with a shout.
This is excellent cricket to watch, always best when the pitch slightly favours the bowlers.

England have done well to get themselves vaguely in contention here. But they still need to overperform from here to win

Mentally, I had a figure of 275 for the lead that Pakistan would want; & now I think we're in for a humdinger.

England need to build some batting partnerships; & Pakistan need to sort out the fielding, & catching.

Realistically, the odds are that Pakistan are already home free. On this pitch, with 2 leggies, it's doubtful that anything over 250 is achievable. It's possible still, but we're already in unlikely territory

Missed all the late wickets,

good bowling & pitch or poor batting? Gives Eng a reasonable chance if they can put 2 decent partnerships together in the chase.

Too early to tell in these no-saliva covid days.

Archer's not been brilliant but can get anyone out. Think he's not keen on revving up to 90+ which is a shame, even if it's just for one spell an innings it's got to be worth a try.

Cracking cricket match. Some good cricket and some poor play.

The odds are heavily stacked against England of course, but mop up the tail quickly and build a decent start, then things could look interesting for a while. Problem is the chances of a decent start look a bit slim

This umpire Kettleborough is having a shocker. He’s made a lot of decisions that seem to have been overturned. That caught behind against Sibley. Sibley missed that by a mile. Even the keeper barely appealed beyond giving it an “oooooh, that was close” type shout.

Balsy review, flicks the glove.

Important wicket for Pakistan. Eng in all sorts of trouble now.

Huge wicket that. Think Stokes genuinely believes he didn't hit it! Terrific piece of wicketkeeping too.

Thought England were moving to a position they could win from for a while but the last hour has swung it massively towards Pakistan

It would be ironic if Buttler plays a match winning innings after all the criticism.

Gotta go some to make up for all the runs Shan Masood made after Buttler kept dropping him.

spun too much? dont think so

big delay. umpires call, out. how did ball tracking determine that the ball bounce that much?
