You guys are talking as if we are facing Zimbabwe.

It doesn't look all that easy out there.

Still Nelson left. Mountain to climb tomorrow. Sad we lost Elgar in the last over.

Douglas Jardine recommends it!
You ARE allowed two fielders backward of square leg.

I am certainly not suggesting bodyline bowling, more bowling at the buttocks as a way of bringing in that mode of dismissal.

Just after I typed that, there were a couple of deliveries which found the edge down leg and went to fine leg for four. A leg slip might have been in business.

Win or lose tomorrow, the Proteas are superb in this series.

Both teams are far below the Ashes teams still.

Could a few of the Indian camp be in trouble after the game? I have just read about their accusations following the Elgar review - you can be unhappy but accusing the broadcaster of cheating is crossing a line.

I was just reading that. Sounds like petulant India is back. Mind you, Saffas have a history of doing this sort of thing.

Nah, Saffers are fine. Aussies are fine now that Ponting is history; Poms are fine. I don't think we bitch and moan all the time.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are just too fucking polite for words

India and Pakistan are the pits though - everyone is out to get them in their minds.

They are barking up the wrong tree about Super Sport surely. The article talks about Hawkeye being independent and relaying their info to the broadcaster.

Oh, 100%. It's India being India. They hated DRS when it was first brought in because they thought it would lead to cheating.

Well, I notice that Elgar succumbed to that mode of dismissal, as well.

Despite Sunil claiming it was an 'unlucky' way to go, an awful lot of wickets have gone to it this series.

Smith for a duck too. Australia, maybe feeling the pressure of the dead rubber, fall to 3 down.

It's disgraceful. And it wasn't 1 or 2 comments, it was repeated comments and actions after the review.

It's India and Kohli tho, so probably just a slap on the wrist.

Was hoping to get some Aussies over here. When it comes to cricket they are most arrogant cheats and pricks.

I wondered after having failed to press to 4-0 and keep alive the possibility of the whitewash, if there might be a loss of focus i.e. the opposite of pressure.

That said, normal service appears to have resumed after the wake up call.

Yeah, it was tongue in cheek about “pressure”. Travis Head certainly seems to revel in this type of situation though and taking the attack to the opposition.

67 needed now. Its good that they're attacking because aside from Pant and Petersen all the other batters have struggled. Can't afford to get bogged down.

I don't think he is rated any higher than a quick, often inconsistent bowler to be fair. But the reality is they are down 2 quick fast bowlers in Archer and Stone so there are few alternatives for that role.

Overton probably deserved a run ahead of Woakes who is bang average away from home, and that is being kind. He has been statistically worse than Leach.

The (print and broadcast) media fucking love Mark Wood and they gush about him as if he's Dale Steyn or even Brett Lee. He's not. He's fast but shite. He offers nothing except pace. His current series figures are fucking dismal in a series where a genuine quick should be making hay. He's taken 8 wickets at over 45, with only the injured Stokes having a worse economy rate. And yet even a week ago there were puff pieces about him. Because he's a nice guy and a touch odd.

As I write this, he's being flogged by Green and I have to go have a meeting instead of watching more of this dismal shit.

The media bumming up a mate is nothing new. If you are talking about being overrated by the media then I agree but I don't put too much weight on media opinions because they are often based on personal relationships. Sections of the media love players. Especially ones who do part time media work, or get them to help write their books etc. But you could lump almost all this England team in with him on that front especially Bairstow and Buttler. Up until now Woakes has a better economy rate by 0.1 runs per over across the series but he gets an easy ride too.

Wood is far too inconsistent and Root doesn't use his fast guys properly. Bowling short on this pitch is asking for trouble.

The media are far too cosy with this England team. Particularly the guys who have been around for a while.

England trying to get their bowlers a rest here I think. Doesn't look that heavy at all.
