Keith, what do you make of Mr. Taff's observation that the Night of the Long Sausage was the night that the Planet Rugby Forum started going down the toilet? It was extremely astute I thought.

Hi Ethologist. You were active on CP for a while? There have been several incidents. The PR forum seemed to thrive best when it was under the radar. As soon as Chins did that Fliddy thing and decided to invade other forums making fun of Thalidomide victims, it was all over.

V??? Is it really you???

It was certainly the beginning of the end of the modern pr. Perhaps telling your membership that the place would be deleted isn't the best long-term strategy.

The internet is crying out for a lightly moderated rugby forum that is more light-hearted forum than rugby. It needs the correct balance of posters though. I'm not sure if there is currently a forum that fulfills all my desires on this front.

The perfect forum will never exist, that would require 100% perfect posters, so we make the best with what we have.

Indeed. Unfortunately the internet is a very polarised place these days.

pretty much reflects society as a whole right now, except the interweb allows people to vent far more vociferously due to the anonymity it offers them.

You say that but I wonder if as much of the c**tish behaviour is conducted by those who want to be seen (no names...).

And they can be got at. :shh:

There are some knowledgeable rugby analysts who use NPR. However, some of them are a bit too woke for my liking, a bit soft around the edges.

Rugby must always remain a game where being a tough hard bastard still means something - I didn't say dirty either in case the WAs read this, although it's still nice to see occasional shithousery.

It's me. Proof: Image

I haven't been that into rugby in recent years, I stopped watching the Crusaders after they switched to the dildo logo, and I stopped watching the All Blacks after they selected multiple domestic abusers in the one squad. Still follow the forums for the bants and the discussion though, it's good for sentiment analysis once you understand the personalities involved.
