Unless I'm being whooshed, it's because there's a nasty bug doing the rounds.

It's 35C in Melbourne today - tonight won't be much cooler.

I worked one Aussie Day weekend down there one year and it was 31C at Midnight

With thunderstorms coming this afternoon meaning it’s unbearably humid.
And 14k cases of Covid in the city today. People are keeping away from crowds.

He and his doubles partner were a couple of ballbags yesterday.

That wasn't my experience to be honest. We were there for 2 days, 3 years ago when the temp was reaching low 40s and found the nights far more bearable. We were there till nearly 0200 after watching the Andy Murray game.

I think you’re being mean to ballbags but yes they are fuckwitts of the highest order, and the more the Aussie fans go on the more he will

It tends to oscillate but Melbourne regularly does get ridiculously hot sustained night-time temperatures.

At least in Melbourne it's usually not humid - that's what kills me in Sydney this time of year

You have probably the biggest fuckwitt in Australian sports as your avatar, so it surprises me not in the slightest that you are a Kyrgios fanboi

From reports it seems the behaviour from the fans and some players is the real problem.

Aussies will be Aussies. Strewth.

Kygiois reminds me of previous Aussie twat of the decade, Jason Gillespie.

Kokkinakis & Kyrgios win the dobules crown. This makes me so happy.

Also happy for the Kiwi whose entire tennis career has culminated in a few news articles on his declaring Kyrgios a knob.

Have to admit it's been very interesting seeing people suddenly pretend they've ever given a shit about doubles

Ok that makes more sense, can’t they play it at a cooler time of year? Tennis in 35 degrees is debilitating. I still reckon you would get big crowds at Wimbledon.

The reason I asked is there are pockets of crowd and then vast areas with no one sitting. I would have thought of Covid was the reason people would be evenly distributed about the ground.
