Other than some niaive or indoctrinated Boris Cultists, I haven't seen people on the street supporting him. The only ones are mad blue rossette, Corbynista types.salanya wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 3:44 pm I'm happy to be the naive one again, but I find it shocking to see how many 'people on the street' think Boris is doing a good job and this wasn't something to resign over.
Plenty of people don't seem to expect any standards or accountability from politicians.
I'm sure the beeb is trying to prove their neutrality by showing all points of view, but it's still pretty odd to see.
As are all the Tory lackeys defending Boris - how little integrity do these people have?!
Sad state of the nation.
Stop voting for fucking Tories
In fairness- ha! - isn't it like a fixed penalty for speeding, which is between you and the police? Not in the public record unlike say a fine in the magistrates'. Maybe.SaintK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 3:13 pm So we may never know who actually gets fined!!!he prime minister’s spokesman refused to commit to No 10 disclosing the names of anyone in Downing Street fined over illegal parties. Although we should certainly be allowed to know if our PM is a law-breaker.
We already know from Sue Gray’s report that a number of junior staff were very uncomfortable about the parties, but felt unable to complain because the culture came from the very top.SaintK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 3:13 pm So we may never know who actually gets fined!!!he prime minister’s spokesman refused to commit to No 10 disclosing the names of anyone in Downing Street fined over illegal parties. I think it’s fair enough not to ‘name and shame’ junior staff, but if any senior civil servants or advisors, or any MPs or ministers are fined for breaching the lockdown rules, they absolutely should be named. If Johnson is fined, that should be made public, and the same goes for his wife and any of her Sloane Ranger chums attending parties in the flat.
Not surprisingly I agree. The names of any junior people who felt obliged to attend don't need to be made public.Lobby wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 4:30 pmWe already know from Sue Gray’s report that a number of junior staff were very uncomfortable about the parties, but felt unable to complain because the culture came from the very top.SaintK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 3:13 pm So we may never know who actually gets fined!!!he prime minister’s spokesman refused to commit to No 10 disclosing the names of anyone in Downing Street fined over illegal parties. “Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.”
They really have gone big time on "Brazen it out, never apologise, never admit fault, never take responsibility, the news cycle will pass"
To be fair, why wouldn't they? They were led to a huge majority by a known liar who had been sacked twice for it, once by a previous leader of his own party.
They know the electorate are fools.

The lie was disgusting, those not calling for Boris to retract and apologise are disgusting, Boris himself seems beyond hope. Still, I'd take the point select committee scrutiny time could be better spent
I don't know why Starmer didn't ask Boris a few weeks ago if he could categorically say that the 1/2 parties he said he had been at were it, no more to come out.

Senior Tory MP Tobias Ellwood has become the latest Conservative to say they want Boris Johnson to leave office.
Ellwood, who's chair of the Commons Defence Select Committee, says he will be submitting a letter of no confidence in the PM.
Ellwood told Sky News earlier that the Conservative Party was "slipping into a very ugly place".

Its a slow drip drip of more resignations, more party revelations, more corruption being revealed, more empty Brexit promises being exposed, more levelling up bullshit and more rabid, incoherent and insulting Tory defensive tactics. It is now open season on the Government both here and overseas. The golden rule of when you are in a hole is to stop digging, some adult needs to take away their spade but instead this Gov are following the Trumpian model of never concede and going all in, just attack, attack, attack and tell even bigger lies. It is going to get even nastier.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 10:11 amSenior Tory MP Tobias Ellwood has become the latest Conservative to say they want Boris Johnson to leave office.

There's more to come out from Cummings as well no doubt. Tory MPs need to realise they're just extending the pain, knock it on the head.
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages, What feats he did that day
Imagine how grim things are going to be when he wins the 'no confidence' vote...Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 10:26 am There's more to come out from Cummings as well no doubt. Tory MPs need to realise they're just extending the pain, knock it on the head.

It's odd. Outside of the ultra loyalists who have completely hitched their wagons to him, there must be a realisation that this won't go away.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 10:26 am There's more to come out from Cummings as well no doubt. I guess the calculation is that he's survived things before and can win them elections. I'm not sure that's the case now though. Everyone knows he's a particularly dishonest individual, but that's not held him back a huge amount. If the last few years has shown anything it's that you can be even more liberal with the truth than politicians in this country have been in the past and get away with it if your personal brand has the right amount of traction.
The issue he has is the nature of the misdemeanours this time. Having repeated piss ups during a pandemic, when people up and down the country couldn't visit dying relatives or have a coffee together after a funeral isn't something people forget. The optics are incredibly bad and I really don't think the stink of this one will wash off.
The Conservatives also won't be facing Corbyn at the next election when it does come and it wont be about Brexit.
I very much doubt brexit will be a vote winner in a couple of years.Margin__Walker wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 10:48 amIt's odd. I’ve talked to people who were in No 10 on 13/11 who could hear the party in No 10 after I’d left - the press office is below the flat. If cops talk to people there that night, there’ll be witnsesses who say ‘we could all hear a party with Abba playing’.
People also underestimate the extent to which [Johnson] lies to literally everybody literally all day - including to Carrie and about Carrie. ‘Lies’ isn’t even a useful word with him - he lives inside a fog of invention and ‘believes’ whatever he has to in the moment. Eg he both knows he’s lying about the parties AND thinks he did nothing wrong. This doesn’t make ‘sense’ unless you’ve watched him carefully or similar sociopaths ...
Be good if this were Johnson's Waterloo. It's based on years of service. Around 2-2.5% of a year's salary, varies depending on contributions. What happens if they serve less than 12 months I don't knowThe sun god wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 11:11 am How long do British MP's need to have their seat before pension entitlements kick in and how generous are they ?

Here is a handy checklist to help explain the Blonde Bumblecunt's behaviour. I honestly do believe he suffers from this condition, his own history in eduction, work and social life is littered with examples of the behaviour below. This is why the adults in the Tory Party need to tackle him and his Brexit Ultras asap for the good of the country. He will not resign, he will cause incredible damage to everyone around him, his party and the country, indeed he already has. Someone needs to step in before this goes any further!
10 Signs of a Narcissistic Sociopath
In order to be classified as a narcopath, malignant narcissist, or narcissistic sociopath, a person has to display several traits of both NPD and APD. Some of these signs include delusions, an obsession with power and control, taking advantage of others, and no moral boundaries. Here are ten signs of a narcissistic sociopath:
1. They Live In a Deluded Reality
Narcissistic sociopaths don’t see the world in the same way other people do. In their distorted version of reality, they are entitled to whatever they want, regardless of what it takes to get it or who is hurt in the process. They will justify their actions, even ones that are inexcusable, and show no remorse.Their narcissism may also lead them to develop delusions of grandeur about being important, special, or exceptional in some way, or paranoid delusions that others are out to get them.
2. They Are Obsessed With Power & Control
People with NPD and ADP are often power hungry, and put a lot of time and effort into acquiring positions that give them power or control over other people, bowling over anyone who gets in their way. Once they obtain power, they may demand to be addressed in a certain way or make others follow rules that don’t make sense. Their obsession with power and control also tends to show up as a refusal to acknowledge any other authority, including rules, laws, policies, or requests made of them by others.
3. They Take Advantage of & Use Other People
Narcissistic sociopaths have a habit of using, exploiting, and taking advantage of others. This tendency shows up in all of their relationships, including romantic relationships and any friendships or family relationships they’ve been able to maintain. They seek out codependent, nurturing types who are more easily manipulated and controlled through guilt, shame, or fear, and will hold onto these relationships only as long as the person is “useful.”
4. They Have No Moral Boundaries
There are no lines a narcissistic sociopath won’t cross to get what they want. Their moral compass is non-existent, leaving them without the sense of “right and wrong” that most people have. After doing something harmful, illegal, or sadistic, they won’t feel remorse, regret, or guilt. In fact, they may even feel a sense of satisfaction knowing they were able to deceive, manipulate, or hurt someone.1,3,4
5. They Have a Limited Range of Emotions
Malignant narcissists don’t experience feelings of love and affection, or more vulnerable emotions like guilt, shame, or sadness. The only strong emotion they seem to be able to access is anger, which will show up as outrage when they’re slighted, offended, or not granted something they feel they deserve.Their stunted emotional range also keeps them from being able to have empathy for other people, and may also lead them to destructive behaviors that allow them to feel something.
6. They Have a Huge Discard Pile
Narcissistic sociopaths are known to discard people and things that are no longer useful to them. Over time, their discard pile stacks up and may include former friends, lovers, colleagues, and mentors who they betrayed, abandoned, or abused. Their discard pile may also include expensive material things they got bored or tired of, as well as roles or activities that served a purpose at one time, but are no longer useful to them.
7. They Become Hostile When Threatened
Narcissistic sociopaths are most dangerous when they feel threatened, which may be more often than most people. Because of their natural tendency to be paranoid, less trusting, and more easily offended, threats can be a routine occurrence for them. When they feel threatened, the narcopath will often become hostile and aggressive, lashing out and becoming abusive towards others.
8. They Feed Off of Negative Energy
The narcissistic sociopath is a person who feeds off of negative emotions and energy. There is something about drama, other’s fear or pain, or the chaos of disaster that seems to excite them or give them energy. This kind of parasitic attraction to negativity is a telltale sign of a sick person, including a person who may have traits of NPD and APD. This behavior is also what makes a sociopathic narcissist sadistic and dangerous, causing them to enjoy the pain and suffering of others.1
9. They Get Bored Easily
A narcissistic sociopath is constantly seeking sensations and cheap thrills because nothing can hold their interest and attention for long. They become easily bored with people, things, and activities, and will abandon them once they are no longer entertained. Their boredom can also turn into a restlessness that causes them to find destructive outlets, which is why people with these traits tend to be impulsive, aggressive, and engaged in crime, violence, or drug use.
10. They Are Empty Inside
A narcissistic sociopath may have worked hard to craft a powerful, important-looking exterior, but this is a front. Lacking the ability to feel a full range of emotions makes them hollow and empty on the inside, keeping them from really experiencing things, expressing themselves, or connecting and relating with others. This internal emptiness is what they’re trying to hide from others with their narcissism, and also what they’re trying to escape within themselves by using drugs or maintaining a level of entertainment, power, or destruction.

What are the chances that he was diagosed as such, at an early age; "I want to be World King !"; & that's why no-one in his family supported his run for Leadership ?
