Yes, I enjoyed it. Helen the cop was superb.

Anyone watch the Expanse season 6?
Am flabbergasted it's over so quickly.
It's the equivalent of GOT deciding to focus on kings landing alone and only do a 5 minute snippet at the start of each episode to cover the life & death struggle in the north.

Watched the first 2 epis so far, there is a lot to cram into just 6. Not sure where they are going with the mini story of the girl on Laconia as that isn't in the Babylon's Ashes book nor the next in the series. Having set up the protomolecule thing so much I suppose they will have to try and give some sort of ending to it - the following books seem to take that on a lot further.Uncle fester wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 11:48 pm Anyone watch the Expanse season 6?

Don’t understand why they bothered with Laconia either.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 9:02 amWatched the first 2 epis so far, there is a lot to cram into just 6. Just finished the last book, and they nailed the landing IMO.

I thought they did try and cram a bit too much into the final episode. Still, season 6 was pretty good overall.Uncle fester wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 11:48 pm Anyone watch the Expanse season 6?

It would have been far better if GOT ended around season 4
Its the strange dogs novella. set between Babylon's Ashes and Persepolis Risingtabascoboy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 9:02 am

I think they are hoping to produce a couple of movies in the future.
So which book is after season 6? Seeing as it’s likely canned, might as well read the rest.Quade wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 9:14 amDon’t understand why they bothered with Laconia either.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 9:02 amWatched the first 2 epis so far, there is a lot to cram into just 6. There are plenty of good examples but The Night Of box set has to be one of the most chillingly realistic versions of how brutal their criminal justice system is

Love the ground effect lambrettas the, "Mods", have; I haven't seen that many mirrors on a scooter in quite some time

Up to episode 4 now - I think I can see why they might have included the Laconia scenes now - connections with something spoilery in the Book 7 story 'Persepolis Rising'. However if they aren't going on to make any more of the series not sure I understand why they took up time with it in this series, might have allowed some slower pacing as things heat up. There are a few changes to the story, most notably Book 7Calculon wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 11:59 amI thought they did try and cram a bit too much into the final episode. I can't remember the name of the film but it had Tom Selleck in as someone that was framed by the police on a drugs bust at the wrong house. Stuff of nightmares.

Just finished HBO's Station Eleven and its outstanding. It's a weird and wonderful post-apocalyptic affair which is superbly acted and directed. I was hesitant to give it a go because the premise sounded a bit silly but freaking loved it.
I have been curious about this because I really rated the book that it is based on.FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:56 am Just finished HBO's Station Eleven and its outstanding. Up to episode 2.... gotta say it's pretty uninspiring so far.... does it get a lot better then?FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:56 am Just finished HBO's Station Eleven and its outstanding. Reminds me of "Revolution" from a few years back... I only watched that cause the lead was cute...

Finished watching 'The Expanse', I have plenty of reservations about the series but that was a pretty good finale with closure and TBH ending the arc from the book 'Babylon's Ashes' felt like an end point with the next book acting as a restart with a new story. The only reason I can think of for the Laconia scenes, which added next to nothing of import, is leaving just enough of a teaser open to be able to resume the series at some point if Amazon or someone else takes it on - maybe a mini-series or feature film rather like 'Serenity' was for 'Firefly'.
Having trouble finding it. Where is it?Grandpa wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 12:07 pmUp to episode 2.... gotta say it's pretty uninspiring so far.... does it get a lot better then?FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 7:56 am Just finished HBO's Station Eleven and its outstanding. I am trying to think if there has ever been a good post apocalyptic tv series? Some decent films.. but I can't remember a decent tv series? I greatly dislike anything with zombies in it.

OZARK season 4 is on but with only 7 episodes instead of 10, it looks like they’ll put 7 more later.

In case you're not feeling old enough. South Park Season 25 has just launched. I was 29 when it premiered. The Simpsons aired season 1 in 1989. I can remember it pretty clearly. It was shown on VHS on our TV on the border at our army base in South West Africa/Namibia. We were packing up to go just before independence of Namibia was declared.

2 episodes in Reacher so far and enjoying it. It's not hardly top notch acting or script but enjoyable non the less.
“Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.”
Yeah, in the same boat. It’s pretty simple with simple characters. Main character is s bit too perfect (as books tend to create). Same with Jack Ryan, Robert Langdon type characters. Smart appearing, guesses/instinct always right 100%.Insane_Homer wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 8:11 am 2 episodes in Reacher so far and enjoying it. I'm on the third ep, it's decent enough fare. Never read any of the books, but dimly aware of the character and it seem like they got the casting right enough. Alan Ritchson's a pretty massive bugger, albeit not quote 6'5.
Willa Fitzgerald's not exactly hard on the eyes. Last thing I saw her in was the godawful Scream TV show, bit of a change.
I watched episode 1 thought ok. Episode 2 just changed to shite, some stupid acting travelling production or whatever the fvck it was. Utter crap. I’ve binned it, along with the free Amazon trial of starz play or whatever it is.Grandpa wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 9:55 pmSorry, I don't know. I got it from a mate.... up to episode 5 now. I stuck with it. Like you I nearly gave up after a couple of episodes. But then I started getting into it more... Its a strange one. But definitely a grower...Ymx wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 9:16 pmI watched episode 1 thought ok. Episode 2 just changed to shite, some stupid acting travelling production or whatever the fvck it was. Strayans, miiiiite. Love that show. Funny as, plus excellently-drawn recurrent characters.
