Really rather windy up here today. Scottish Power already warning people there will be outages and it’ll take a while to fix them.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Ironic since we've been suffering a loss of wind-power generation with high pressure so prevalent this winter

My brand new greenhouse (completed last week) is just a mobile heap of twisted aluminium this morning, I'm just a bit furking pissed off. My plans for growing nearly all out own fruit and veg this year are under serious review.

I had to go and retrieve the lid from the little one's sandpit from the other side of the garden this morning. My next door neighbour has someones outside furniture cover half-wrapped around his car. It's like armageddon out there :eek:

70-90mph wind gusts due Thursday and Friday in and around Matterdale! I know it's nopthing compared to what you survived in Japan but my old lady is pleased that they're heading back early!
At least it's not costing them anything as thet were test driving some new luxury cabins for friends before they open in March

Wind picking up here on the Lancs coast.
Everything in the garden now gale proofed, I suspect a few wheely bins are going to be rolling down the road soon.
A few roof reapirs here still not finished with repairs after the last storm. Good time to be a roofer I suppose

Its going to be bad Friday. Gusts up to 100mph in the South
Plus a couple more storms following next week to hit Scotland.

Looks like a mini hurricane in N Atlantic towards end of feb too but track looks like it will go towards Iceland.


Supposedly country has lost 8 million trees this winter due to storms.

Actually BBC predictions all over the place ATM. We’re inland on the Wirral predicted 80+, New Brighton on the coast 60ish and Liverpool low 40s.

The Met Office has issued a "stay indoors" warning with Storm Eunice set to move in with winds reaching 100mph on Friday after Storm Dudley left thousands without power and caused travel chaos on roads and train lines.

It has also issued a "danger to life" amber warning covering almost the whole of England for tomorrow - warning of further outages and disruption to the transport network as the clean-up got under way on Thursday in the wake of Storm Dudley.

Forecasts should get more certain now the system has formed and moves towards areas with greater observation coverage. For now looks like SW England and S Wales coasts will get the worst but disruption and damage likely to be worst where the higher population areas are south of Lincolnshire to Anglesey. Biggest danger is a "sting jet" as this could raise wind gusts well over 100mph temporarily in the Celtic sea eastwards across Wales and southern England if one forms.

As if that isn't bad enough could be another storm on Sunday
