The kicking stats are weird. I have no idea how to interpret them. What does “Penalties scored/missed” mean?

Is it penalty goal attempts? Is it supposed to be a % or ratio? Is it successes DIVIDED by misses? If it is, that’s a weird rugby metric I haven’t seen before.

Jack Carty is leading with 9? Maybe it’s just scored and the missed part should be dropped from the heading?

Personally I think it should have successful penalties as the main metric and success rate next to it e.g. 9 (90%)

So much anger.

I know that he is a very serious kid......but I am also wondering if something is going on and if the lad is ok. I worry about my boys here on NPR.

Know how to bring the best out of Sards.

Anyways, who would have thought that Manie Libbok will be the leading point scorer, Senatla the most tries and Evan Roos all the workhorse stats at the start of the season?

I'm genuinely happy for Libbok. I don't think he was a good signing for the Sharks and I'm not at all surprised he didn't last. But glad he's found the right place for him to thrive. Same for Tambwe; was always going to struggle behind Nkosi and Map1mp1 so made sense for him to go to the Bulls.

Also very proud of the 2 of them. The Sharks is really the right enviroment to get the youngsters headed in the right direction. Unfortunately they both couldn't survive in the competition for places at the Sharks. So many Springboks ahead of them.

Libboks best skill is distribution and attack. He scored three tries thus far. His place kicking have my doubts but he kicked well. He is by far our best 10 in the competition. I know he can play kak on his off day but at the moment he is having a ball.

Mandatory 5 points for Glasgow tonight against Zebre to keep their top-4 prospects alive - but they will still need to get 2 wins from their SA trip and 1872 return you'd feel, so more likely to finish 5th or 6th - which could mean a QF trip to Edinburgh, Belfast or whatever stadium Munster decide to play in.

Elsewhere it already looks like we'll end the season with the usual boring Irish inter-provincial stuff to decide the Champion. Well done to Ireland for getting their pro rugby structure down to a tee and having the URC in their pockets, of course, but would be nice if the other nations (Wales excepted - I'd be more than happy if they carved out a monopoly in the also-ran market) could raise themselves to the same level.

Problem with you southerners and your sponsors is that in the alphabetical listings on the URC website, you’re listed by your sponsors instead of your names. So the stormer are listed under D and the Bulls are listed under V.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Yep
Warrick Gelant has been left out as a precaution due to a minor thumb injury and his place at fullback is filled by Damian Willemse, with Rikus Pretorius coming in at inside centre.

Ernst van Rhyn has also been ruled out with an elbow injury picked up in training this week, so Hacjivah Dayimani starts at blindside flank, with the final change coming on the other side of the scrum where Junior Pokomela comes into the starting line-up.

There are also three new faces among the replacements, with Ali Vermaak, Ben-Jason Dixon and Sergeal Petersen all in line to make an impression in the second half.

DHL Stormers Head Coach John Dobson said that his team is aiming to build some more winning momentum against what will be a competitive Ospreys team.

“We have been pleased with our results recently, but we know there is still much we can improve in our game and hopefully we can show take another step forward on Saturday.

“It is another great opportunity for us to play in front of our Faithful supporters and we are expecting a real test from the Ospreys, who have a number of Test players in their ranks,” he said.

It really sounded at the time as if he was keen to come home. I guess we just couldn't match Bordeaux's offer.

I’ve seen weaker Scotland teams than this.
Immelman has been playing well of late after a pretty poor start, so he gets the nod meaning Boffelli moves to the wing and Moyano drops out of the 23 altogether.
It’s a big tight five and good ball carrying in the back row, plus pace to burn in the backline.

As they say it’s the hope that gets you, we’ll probably get pumped

Sharks will win by however much they want to. Stormers will win.

The weather forecasts I've just seen for game times is Pretoria 24 degrees and dry, Johannesburg 22 degrees and dry. So, warm for rugby but not ridiculous.
It will all boil down to the altitude. I don't know what Ulster are doing but Edinburgh arrived yesterday, the idea being that a quick in and out means your blood remains oxygenated.

We'll see, I'd certainly back that Edinburgh side to win comfortably at sea level.
