Can’t help but feel that this is at least in part a consequence of no relegation. Exhibition feel to this match

Saints are one of several still in the hunt for a playoff place, meanwhile Bris can still push for Champions Cup qualification. Those really should be sufficient motivators even without relegatio, if not then the teams have serious attitude problems.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 3:11 pmCan’t help but feel that this is at least in part a consequence of no relegation. It's bizarre - it would have even looked egregious if he'd done it in the 1970s.

You might think so if it was a perennial bottom-dweller club but this team finished the regular season in first place last year. Without that contract extension you'd reckon that Pat Lam would have been replaced already given the resources at his disposal.

Jesus are players ever going to learn re: stand up tackles?

Karl Dickson is just a bad referee.
Very much this, he thought that was only a yellow...ffs idiot.
Not even yellow, he was going penalty only until the TMO pulled him back for another look!ASMO wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 3:35 pmVery much this, he thought that was only a yellow...ffs idiot.

Wasps win at Kingsholm despite giving Glaws a chance to snatch it at the death by fucking up the final restart. Nice to get an away win, feels like the last one was forever ago.
A big blow to Glaws' play off hopes you would have thought.
Rugby in the second 40 was much better the first.

Very good win that - and one we really needed to stay in touch with the Champions League spots. Very tight in the table for the last couple of slots.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 4:00 pm Wasps win at Kingsholm despite giving Glaws a chance to snatch it at the death by fucking up the final restart. Just watching the highlights and I didn't really clock live that Robson's drop goal was 45m!
We definitely did a few teams above us a favour and I imagine it'll be the final round before 3rd and 4th resolve themselves now.Ovals wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 5:06 pmVery good win that - and one we really needed to stay in touch with the Champions League spots. Watching yesterday's highlights as part of the Exiles - Quins coverage.
Jeez, Cokanasiga looked sloooooow when taking his tries. Not sure he's going to be an answer to England's size in the backline issue unless he moves to 12 (and I certainly don't advocate for that).

As a neutral the game's been as open as you'd want it so far, fun to watch.

Of all the random players Eddie calls up to the squad and given our relative lack of second row depth recently, why hasn't Tizard been included?
Big lump who seems happy doing his tight work, but also comfortable on the ball.

He off to Sarries next season? That will be a decent second row with him and Itoje.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 2:48 pm Of all the random players Eddie calls up to the squad and given our relative lack of second row depth recently, why hasn't Tizard been included?

He looked to be jogging those in to me as they were pretty much walk in'ssockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 1:11 pm Watching yesterday's highlights as part of the Exiles - Quins coverage.

He is indeed. Looks like he could be filling the Kruis lump role with added loose play in place of lineout nerdery.ASMO wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 2:49 pmHe off to Sarries next season? Care must surely hold some sort of scrum half yellow card record now?

Scoreboard is brutal on Irish given how many near scores they had.

Watching Rugby Tonight and they're doing a head contact piece, how on earth did Biggar not earn a red in the Saints - Bristol game? Twice he shouldered players right in the head.

With the cock ups he makes, how does he get assessed as of sufficient quality to referee at international level?sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 5:35 pmHe really is fucking hopeless.Oxbow wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 5:02 pmDickson...sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 5:00 pm Watching Rugby Tonight and they're doing a head contact piece, how on earth did Biggar not earn a red in the Saints - Bristol game? It is baffling. And to think that the RFU let JP Doyle go...
Just seen it, that was mental, one of the worst I've seen

Video is here, he deserves a very very long ban for that.

Hopefully the ban will be measured in months not matches

Try years. Someone that wilfully violent towards other players doesn't have a place on the field.

Honestly it's that sort of stuff that is the reason I gave up playing - way too much of it in the club game. Mentioned before I think but the last straw was seeing someone's knee pretty clearly deliberately snapped off the ball.
