Even knowing the back-story from the books the jumping of timelines takes some getting used to.
Season 1 was much better than S2, imo.

The timeline jumping was a feature of the first season, which I think added to it, in hindsight.

It was great! Loved the Christopher Walken/John Torturro dynamic. Patricia Arquette is uber creepy. In fact the whole cast are amazing.

Better Call Saul final season is starting this Saturday.

Unfortunately it looks like it might be one per week, which might be quite frustrating.

I suppose it might be worth reminding myself of the series as forgotten most of it.

Its unapologetic low-brow sci-fi action pulp but I'm loving the Halo series. Released weekly no on episode 4.

Have really been enjoying Cobra Kai. It is silly, poorly acted and features rubbishly choregraphed fight scenes - but the characters are likeable/sufficiently evil and going on a fantastical learning journey.

The nostalgia is bordering on obscene.

Hard to fault really.

Aye - he is a stand out. His 'bro' attitude is so on point and the back and forth between him and Daniel Larusso is great. Loving the little meta references as well - like someone yelling out that 'Larusso was the bully in high school' and the constant references to the Crane Kick being illegal.

It is absolute meth to me.

Outer Range has Josh Brolin and Will Patton starring in a super-natural/Western on Amazon. Its set on the Wyoming prairie with the snowy mountains of Yellowstone in the background. I'm enjoying it after 2 episodes. I tried to watch Yellowstone but my found it another Costner ego vehicle. Outer Range is more my cup of Western tea.

Finished The Witcher Season 2. that was good fun. After some uncertainty over the casting, for Jaskier the actor won me over in season 2, his comedic timing is very good and he sure can sing. 'Whoreson Prison Blues' LOL. Seems like we might have to wait until next year for the next season...

Anyone watched the animation The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf?

Just finished the first block of Stranger Things season 4. Really enjoyed it. Lacked a bit of pace in some of the middle episodes, but the final one really brought a lot of it together and set up the last block.

Just finished Better Call Saul first part. It's been very good so far.
Spoiler
Show
Lalo Salamanca is a fkn great villain. The final scene was just epic
Watched first episode of Stranger Things S4. I'll always love this show because it transports me straight back to the eighties . The Duffer brothers who write the show are millennials born in 1984 and have done amazingly well to recreate the zeitgeist given they won't have had much memory of the time.

Absolutely loving Stranger Things and can't wait fir the final 2 episodes.

Bosch Legacy ok. Not as good as previous seasons, think it loses something without J Edgar as his partner, but still worth a watch.

Talking of J Edgar, 4 episodes into We Own This City is. Assuming it's accurate enough it's fucking mind boggling. Will have to get through book.

Our Falklands War was a very emotional watch. Definitely one to watch if you've an interest in the conflict.

So it's based on The Wrong Side of Goodbye (Book 19), only up to Book 15 so far...

In the books, J Edgar is only the partner of Bosch for a short time and he gets through a whole load of partners whom he either pisses off in various ways or they move on. I guess for the first set of seasons they thought the audience would prefer to see a relationship with just the one partner than chopping and changing. Bosch also works in a number of different offices, not just North Hollywood Homicide but again keeping the same base was likely a production decision.

Stranger Things has been consistently excellent. Season 4 so far has just been great. I see Kate Bush's Running up that Hill is back to no.1 after 41 years. Lots of eighties tunes in my house right now. My younger daughter is a Stranger Things fan. We have lots of Kate Bush and Pass the Dutchie to the Lefthand side playing.

Ah ok. I suppose I'm the case in point there. Are the books worth reading? I assume so if you're 15 deep

Yes, not all of the books have been adapted for TV although they sometimes take smaller parts of a story and incorporate it into the main one for TV. The first couple of books the author is still trying to settle into a style and overdoes the 'Noir' thing a bit but gets better and they are pretty good reads as you get to see how Bosch is thinking his detective work.

I watched the first 2episodes yesterday, good show, it’s like Old Jason Bourne,

I recommend “ the Offer “ it’s about the making of The Godfather, it’s a show not a documentary.

That is fantastic!

The original is repeated constantly here in Oz - I watch it most evenings.

Paramount plus seems to have just launched in the UK

Anything on there worth watching?

Yellowstone S3 is on there.
Halo? Any good?
Anything else?

Seems to be loads of Star Trek on there but I’ve not really been a trekky, unless of course there is an outstanding film on there.

The new Star Trek was ok, some new (to me anyway) characters, but I suppose it was really just the same format.

Not got round to Halo yet. I notice there's only 3 ep up, assuming they're being released on a weekly basis?

Yep, looks like every Wednesday.

I’ve signed up, but will likely ditch after a month, there’s not a lot of unique content there

Can't justify another subscription. Might just use the week free after a few full series are available and binge.
