On form over the last year, we'll struggle to get halfway to 300.

I decided to pop down at tea yesterday (£20 for the last session) as wickets were falling left right and centre.
Then this this morning.

I think advantage England.
If they can see off the new ball relatively unscathed then they have an age to get the runs. All that effort from the Blundell and Mitchell could be for nothing.

Don't blame the cricket, it's you that ruins sport for the rest of us.Happyhooker wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 11:34 am I decided to pop down at tea yesterday (£20 for the last session) as wickets were falling left right and centre.

Seemingly so with current injuries but the point remains that Eng's test side is not working and Anderson is at the end of his career. At some point, a rebuilding exercise has to commence.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 10:43 amEnzedder wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 10:45 pmThis now ranks as one of those questions whos answer is "Because"Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 11:00 am James Anderson & Stuart Broad recalled by England for New Zealand Tests

Why?
Are the missing words "we would struggle to pick a Test attack otherwise"?
I don't think one partnership changes old man Jimmy getting 4-66 in the first innings at Lord's

But I think it's for the best if you stay away from all sporting events from now on. It's your patriotic duty.
It was pretty transparent admittedlyTorquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 1:17 pmRed card for that early attempt at the mockers. NZ mimicking Eng's ability to collapse this morning.
Prematurely retiring Anderson makes no sense when he's still one of our best bowlers. And England's problems are the batting, the batting, the batting, and the spin bowling. That's why the test team isn't working.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 1:16 pmSeemingly so with current injuries but the point remains that Eng's test side is not working and Anderson is at the end of his career. So this is the partnership that will either win or lose it for England.

Hmmmm....game turning against NZ. CDG gets Stokes but it is a no ball and now CDG goes off injured.

Total control? 7 sessions to go - 178 needed, 6 wickets in hand and at the crease one of the best batters in Test cricket partnered with one of the most destructive. I would rather be where NZ are - but we are allowed to be a bit concerned aren't we?
We are one of the worst batting units in world cricket. One wicket wins you the match.Thor Sedan wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 3:32 pmTotal control? 7 sessions to go - 178 needed, 6 wickets in hand and at the crease one of the best batters in Test cricket partnered with one of the most destructive. And one Stokes blitz or Root grind wins it for you.
No, Stokes can blitz or Root can grind but if other players don't step up we still lose

Stokes has had a blitz and is now out trying a ramp shot to a bouncer.Thor Sedan wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 4:45 pmAt the moment you won't need anyone else to step up.

However it ends up, this has been a rollicking roller coaster of a test.
