Usual crowd for the Ospreys to see. Arse twitcher this. 20-20 draw, I'll take that.

If we'd had the likes of Roberts, Jordan Williams and any of dyer, rosser or holmes on the wing I think we'd have been a different proposition. Owen Jenkins can go back to being squad filler... Howells was ok but not as good as the other options.
Not sure taking off basham was the call. With the new laws he was dangerous. Should have been fry who went off. Overall, some really bad handling killed what could have been a bonus point victory.

I think Ryan is using these games simply as a fact finder. Might be some players coming back need a half to get going. I didn't see the match unfortunately, did North's Red Card make a huge difference? Did the Ospreys adopt a different approach and go defensive, or were they comfortable?? The match reports indicate a dull second half with the Ospreys looking good for it the first 40.
Ospreys looked pretty good. Pack was strong, scrum started well, difficult at the breakdown with tipuric being the most obvious problem for us. Kieran Williams was good value for man of the match. They should have probably tried to play just a bit more second half. They kicked a lot but hurt us ball in hand.
First half we looked good when Hewitt or Tompkins were on the ball, but second half there were not that many chances for them individually. Bring in a few of the other first teamers and they will shine. Still need another good luck though.

Did the Dragons look match rusty and needing conditioning?penguin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 3:39 pm Ospreys looked pretty good. Part rusty... But some like Owen Jenkins and Dixon kept making bad decisions. We looked better with Baldwin at 9... But so much was about little drives from the forwards with no support so giving easy turnovers, passes that were either forced or hands let us down. Bad kicks, missed kicks at goal. Lineout issues, timing issues at the scrum. Players taking all the space with a run rather than drawing defenders when the opposition had 14. Stupid and rusty.bessantj wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 3:45 pmDid the Dragons look match rusty and needing conditioning?penguin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 3:39 pm Ospreys looked pretty good. Forced passes are such a fucking killer. The Dragons really need to learn when to pass and when to just take the tackle and, of course, support.penguin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 3:50 pmPart rusty... And we also need to learn to put a fucking ball down...daf Howells.
There were a lot of glaring errors but I think some of the issues with a lack of continuity and the turnovers at the breakdown might still revolve around the locks. Still crossing my fingers about Rowlands....

Hope that Dean Ryan can turn some of that around in the coming season. Still knock out game to come as well.penguin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 4:08 pm And we also need to learn to put a fucking ball down...daf Howells.

Long way to go from today to knocking over Bristol away. Need to go up several gears. Still, players to come back in who can do that so not completely disheartened.bessantj wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 4:39 pmHope that Dean Ryan can turn some of that around in the coming season.
