Discipline was a massive problem though. As critical as I am of the Boks’ performance it’s really difficult to generate momentum against a team that’s willing to be as cynical in the red zone as Wales was today.

We had a similar bad outing against the Argies in 2021, where they would give away so many penalties but we just couldn’t convert them to points either due to bad goal kicking on the day, and a great maul defense and a 9 & 10 partnership that just couldn’t get anything right on the day.

This match had a similar feeling to it. Boks need to get better at being ruthless and daring in attack. Too many times they panic and try a kick when they run out of ideas.
