Damian Willemse had other ideas
Springbokke vs Wales

It's a shocking response to field such a weak team. I mean. Which proffessional team would include a Dullard like Biggar . Further to that. When scrolling through the team. When I saw 14 above Zammit, I thought that was his age

I don't think so. Thomas and Ox were the most dominant props in the tournament. Ox's replacement is stronger than Ox. Although Wiese was a beast last weekend I think Roos is going to add the same and a better ball carrying option. The bonus for this side. They won't be carrying a passenger at 6. Instead you have Deon Fourie. Huuuuuge advantage.
In the backline this weeks team will definitely be more porous , but I believe there will be more gas. Fassi has been mixing his game up and is still getting it right. But give him a sniff of a chance and you are 7 points down. I am nervous and excited for him. If it all comes off for him like it eventually did for Damien after years of trial and lots of errors, he may just improve on his try scoring record of a try a game. In the mould of Mapimpi. As much as Willemse was plied with praise for getting that kick, he is nowhere near the class of Gelant. I have been a Gelant fanbooi since he joined the Bulls. He just makes magic happen. The most X factor I have seen in a Springbok. Can't wait to see him in the green and gold.

And the two Sharks boys. Just so much more x factor, speed and variation.
If the Welsh win they will really have to get the rub of the green. Maybe a sympathetic ref. Unlike last week's neutral ref.
Re Biggar.....fair enough.
But I might be wrong. It does happen.

Win or lose, I am glad our coaches experiment now. In 2019 it works, this is the right time.

Strong egg man vibes!
Very probable. But I carry my heart on my sleeve. I am not one of those too afraid to commit and then when it's all done choose a sideLoveOfTheGame wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 2:53 pmKiss of death..Sards wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 2:43 pmI don't think so. I was confident of a good win.

He always pick the kak players. If Hendrikse is on par with his URC form, our kak will start in 9. Lets hope he is a SKAKEL, like in skrumskakel and everything will be fine.

All my predictions this year have been wrong. So you can thank me when the Boks canter to a 30 point win.
Jesse Kriel is an interesting player.
His last few games for the Boks, he was pretty decent if I recall correctly. He's not good enough to unseat Am, Mapimpi or Kolbe, but he does what is asked of him when he does come off the bench. Nobody is screaming for him to be selected, and nobody is screaming when he is selected. He's got over 50 caps for the Boks already.

They have the luxury of a test in the bag. Transfers pressure onto the new side, make them work. Ideal.
There was a moment over the weekend when I think Wiese was running right at him with the obvious intention of clattering him and Biggar did the smart thing and just kind of got out of the way and let Wiese trip over him. It was very anticlimactic.
Ja, I was confident before Sards' post.
He just reminded me that this Bok team has a ton of Sharks, more than any team I can remember from the last couple of years.
Nienaber wanted to see how these lads handle pressure matches...well we know how the Sharks do...
Suddenly not so confident anymore. Let's hope Roos and Fourie can carry them, like they carried the Stormers all season.
Interesting and frustrating. He is such a talented player and gifted athlete, and also seems to be very disciplined, focused and committed. All the right attributes to be a world class player, yet couldn't really put his stamp on international rugby. Yes, it doesn't help that he playing understudy to Am who has been a revelation over the last 3-4 years, but the contest between them should be a lot tighter than it is.assfly wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 6:31 am Jesse Kriel is an interesting player.

I'm pretty leery about Jaden Hendrikse at the base. No idea why they rushed him into the squad as a 21 year old last year. He has big question marks having over his kicking, decision-making and temperament imo. There are two legacy Sharks playing here in Marcell Coetzee and Jesse Kriel. I also think we can claim PSDT and Andre Esterhuizen as being ex-Sharks. Overall a very Sharky complexion to this team.
I'll take credit, if we win.FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 9:14 am I'm pretty leery about Jaden Hendrikse at the base. No idea why they rushed him into the squad as a 21 year old last year. I don't care if the Boks are Sharkish or Stormish or Bullish. Want them all to play well and smash Wales.

I am not sure how you have aged. He was pretty much like you when I met you. He is looking a bit different now. The introduction of " girls " and " high school " does wonders for your appearance, especially when you are growing taller, voice is deeper and you get hair on your balls
Boet, you met me 15 years ago after after 4 years of non-stop boozing and eating junk at Varsity.Sards wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 2:13 pm Ooooh.

I think I was pushing close to 120 at the time. I've dropped more than 30kg since then.

This thread need some Wales and Scots and English input.
Not really. It's more fascinating to watch you lot punch each other to a standstill. Really looking forward to this game though.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 3:58 pm This thread need some Wales and Scots and English input.

My youngster is nowhere close to that. That's in the Big Nipper league.
Chubby is probably a good description.
Going to his first concert next Feb. Missus managed to get some great tickets this morning when they went on sale.
The Welsh have been very quiet....

I'm completely wall-eyed after watching rugby since this morning. Two hour break before the Boks-Wales game and I feel agitated and nervous. I really don't know what to expect from the game. Time to walk the dogs I think.
