Another load of rain on the way, though it's possible that S London will miss the worst and it slips south.Insane_Homer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 8:12 am Heavy rain this morning, should be lighter, clear around 11am but 30% of rain for the entire day forecast. Not looking that great at all.

For the second game in a row, the longer Williamson has batted the more NZ's chances have receded. It's time he followed Boult and buggered off. Bring Nicholls back in, or even Phillips.

11.20am: Shots of the umpires looking nervously at the skies, and it seems as if the groundstaff aren't going to be taking any chances - full covers being pulled across the square now. No official word yet of a delay, though
11.25am: Raining again *sigh*

Early lunch at The Oval. Suspect it'll be one of those days where they take an inspection, get the covers off and 5 mins later it's pissing again - and repeat

It was just completely spineless. They got caught in the 'low total we can just push it around to get there' hole. Lost some quick wickets and not one senior player took any sort of responsibility.
I don't mind losing if there was some heart in the attempt - but that was just weak. I don't know what is going on with KW - but his 'McCullumness' has just disappeared. 198 deliveries in our innings and 146 of them were dots.
Uppercut yourselves.

A bit optimistic but still plenty of rain around to the SW of LondonInspection at 13:30 BST
EDIT: lo and behold Raining again. Covers back on.
Just pushing the ball around and accumulating runs would have been better than pushing it around for dot balls. It happens mate. Bit like the putrid effort the Wallabies put in against the Boks last week's. It's the lack of fight that hurts....Kiwias wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 3:38 amIt is not the losing but the utterly gutless performance we put in with the bat.Deepsouth wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 2:26 amNo shame in losing to the Aussies mate. The last test start tomorrow and will be 3 days

Johannesburg — The third Test between South Africa and England will start at The Oval on Saturday, after the second day’s play was cancelled following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
However it is understood that the England Cricket Board’s hopes to add an extra day could not be agreed to with Cricket South Africa, for logistical reasons.
The ECB released a statement on Friday afternoon confirming the Test would go ahead from Saturday, with each day consisting of 98 overs.
The two boards held lengthy talks about adding an extra day to the match on Tuesday. However the Proteas, who were scheduled to leave that day, don’t want to push back their departure as it will leave them with less time at home before they head to India next week for One-Day and T20 International series in that country. They will travel straight from India to Australia for the T20 World Cup.
