Cheetahs 2020/ 2021
https://www.news24.com/sport/rugby/pro1 ... 4-20200920
I can't copy the article, but basically it says that because the 4 Super Rugby Franchises failed at SR, why should they get automatic entry into the Pound Cash Cow that is the Pro14. They laughed at us when we were kicked out now they cow cap in hand with their begging bowls .
It says that the Cheetahs should be guaranteed a spot with the Franchises fight it out fir the other 3. Or the top 4 in the CC should play in the Pro14.
I agree wholeheartedly.

I don't see why the Cheetahs have to lose out on the PRO Rugby.IN THE SPOTLIGHT: The Cheetahs have brought in a high-profile South African advocate to help protect their franchise status.

According to Netwerk24, the Cheetahs have reached out to South African Advocate Wim Tengrove SC to help with the legal battle for their spot in Europe.
The move follows reports that the four Super Rugby franchises the Bulls, Lions, Sharks and Stormers are set to join the revamped Pro14 competition.
Which means that the Cheetahs and Kings will be axed from the European competition for a revamped ‘Pro16’.
The Cheetahs and Kings joined the Pro14 in 2017 after being kicked out of Super Rugby when the tournament was reduced from 18 to 15 teams.
While the Kings have already revealed they will not participate in any rugby this year and with their dire financial woes diminishing their chances in Europe, the Cheetahs are determined to keep theirs.
The SA Rugby bosses are scheduled to meet on Tuesday to vote for the four South African franchises that will join the expanded Pro16 tournament in 2021.

Should the outcome not go in favour of the Cheetahs, reports reveal they will take the legal action against SA Rugby.
The one thing strengthening the Free State side’s case is the fact they have a contract with SA Rugby to play in the Pro14 until 2023.
Reports reveal that the Cheetahs would lose an income of R30milion per annum in sponsors and TV-rights is they are axed from the Pro14.

Meanwhile, is has also been speculated that an alternative option for Bloemfontein side will be to join a newly developing Super Eight tournament in Australia or New Zealand.
The planned Super Eight would be played over a month, however, the idea does not sit well with the Cheetahs.

How do Cheetah supporters feel about possibly being left out of a Pro deal in the North? I have a lot of sympathy...buuuut I remember the Cheetahs casting a certain vote in 2013 where a team was dropped from the soup. Schadenfreude?

The Lions was a bankrupt mess back then. We did you a favour to vote you out. It gave you time to rebuild and come back stronger.
Daai 3 spanne moet maar 'n kompetisie reel onder mekaar tydens PRO16 tyd en hoop iewers in die wereld sien iemand dit raak en nooi hulle om deel te raak.
Springboks, Stormers and WP supporter.

Sadly the VRYSTAAT will always be the ugly duckling of SA rugby.

They'll be getting better test than you think. This is going to be a touring side that is largely comprised of the Irish U20 side that won last years U20 Six Nations, so their no mugs, & they're a group of players, that have been playing together for a few years.
I think these games will be well worth a watch as they've played a good brand of rugby.

We first have to get past Italy A before we can even begin to think about Ireland. Luckily we're not playing the CC Champs. If the spaghettis play their youngsters we're fucked.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:42 pmThey'll be getting better test than you think. Haha actually i can see that jersey doing very well under the female supporters if it ever goes on sale.
Glad they do not use the normal Bulls jersey in these games.
This bulls team doing ok so far. The bulls 13 stupidly diving himself off the field and then not even getting the try. I absolutely hate players diving for no reason when already over the line with no pressure. Stupid to risk injury for no reason
