The same with locking kids in cages, which was fine when Obama was president.
OK.
So the reason you're supporting Trump (or withholding your support for Biden, which basically amounts to the same thing) is because "Everybody does it, so why should it be an issue when it's Trump"?

Possibly expose the corruption that enabled her to obtain it in the first place.
From Wiki
Acquisition of U.S. citizenship
Knauss came to the United States from Slovenia in 1996. She resided in the U.S. briefly on a visitor's visa and then obtained H-1B work visas. In 2000 she petitioned for a right to permanent residency under the EB-1 program, a program designed for people with "extraordinary abilities."[46] According to information from the Migration Policy Institute, only two percent of people in their field would be expected to qualify.[47] The Washington Post reports that at that time Knauss's credentials included "runway shows in Europe, a Camel cigarette billboard ad in Times Square and — in her biggest job at the time — a spot in the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated, which featured her on the beach in a string bikini, hugging a six-foot inflatable whale."[46][47][48] In the analysis of Joel Gunter of the BBC, "[Melania Trump] does not appear at the time to have excelled in a niche area of modelling, nor won awards or had her work written about in significant publications"; Gunter reports a conjecture that "she may have been boosted by high-profile testimonial letters, said Nita Upadhye, a US immigration specialist at NNU Immigration Law. Testimonials form part of the application, and the more high-profile the reference the more weight it carries. If Mrs Trump, already dating Mr Trump at the time she applied, secured letters from luminaries in fashion, that would be significant, Ms Upadhye said."[46]
During the months that she campaigned with her husband prior to his successful bid for presidency, Melania Trump defended his hard-line on immigration practices and laws by stating that her own path and achievement of citizenship had been legal, unlike those of the individuals Donald Trump was campaigning against. However, investigative reporting done by the Associated Press revealed that she had been paid for 10 modeling jobs she had done before she had obtained her H1-B work visa and was still living in the U.S using her visitor visa. The Associated Press commented that "Foreigners are not allowed to use a visitor visa to work for pay in the U.S. for American companies. Doing so would violate the terms of that visa and could prohibit a foreigner from later changing his or her immigration status in the U.S. or bar the foreigner from the United States again without special permission to come back."[6]
Melania Trump obtained her citizenship in 2006. According to media reports she sponsored her parents, Viktor and Amalija Knavs, who went through the immigration process using "chain migration", a route that the president has repeatedly criticized.[49][50]
The H-1B is a visa in the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act, section 101(a)(15)(H) that allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations. A specialty occupation requires the application of specialized knowledge and a bachelor's degree or the equivalent of work experience. The duration of stay is three years, extendable to six years; after which the visa holder may need to reapply. Laws limit the number of H-1B visas that are issued each year: 188,100 new and initial H-1B visas were issued in 2019.[1] Employers must generally withhold Social Security and Medicare taxes from the wages paid to employees in H-1B status.
The EB-1 is a preference category for United States employment-based permanent residency. It is intended for "priority workers". Those are foreign nationals who either have "extraordinary abilities", or are "outstanding professors or researchers", and also includes "some executives and managers of foreign companies who are transferred to the US".[1] It allows them to remain permanently in the US.
Therefore, applicants who can demonstrate their extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics through sustained national or international acclaim are not required to have a permanent offer of employment in the US and are eligible to self-petition, however, they must intend to work in the US in their field of expertise.[2]

The only rumors i heard a few weeks or so back is that she was renegotiating her prenup with Trump. So maybe she told him that she will praise him to high heaven if he increase her prenup terms. Looking at any public images of her and Trump together over the last 3 years does not seem to show much true love between those 2. Anyway, she is just a sideshow, Trump has enough going on himself that should be enough to keep him away from getting elected again in any sane democracy. Unfortunately I think this might be a lot closer than what people would want. I think democracy in the USA is completely broken, there are to many "legal" ways to stay in power there, without being the most popular.

It would be fun to see them try though. A sort of live fire excercise for the real military.

And Jared/Ivanka have never been employed as advisors
...Oh hang on.
Jared/Ivanka have never given advice...
No, not quite there yet
Jared/Ivanka have never given good advice...
Definitely not nepotism.
Look at Chelsea Clinton. She was employed as the Clintons daughter, twice..
That is the definition of nep.... something!
I definitely didn't say that nepotism wasn't rife in the Trump household, just that having Tiffany and Melania speak at the RNC isn't it.
Having Jared, Ivanka and Don Jr in any position of influence anywhere in the world blatantly is, obviously, but they weren't in the screenshot.
I'm not aware of Eric's existence being evidence of anything, except that stupid people go everywhere.

If that's the kid that was getting chased by the mob and fell over, I would imagine it will be a pretty solid test of their "stand your ground" law.
It looks like they have the Castle Doctrine, rather than Stand Your Ground. So you're allowed shoot a trespasser on your property (or in your car, etc) but not necessarily just any random threat on the street.Ata Rangi wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 8:57 pmDoes Wisconsin have a stand your ground law? Transport of a weapon across state lines may also be an issue.
Also, Stand Your Ground apparently presupposes that the ground-stander was not themselves in the process of committing a crime, so yeah, transporting a firearm across state lines may be that.

The video I saw of him being chased in the street and shooting, there's clearly someone saying that he's shot someone. He's an active threat basically.

If the border crossing is an issue does that change the jurisdiction of the murder from state law to federal law?
It may just be as simple as it's illegal to bring an undeclared weapon into Wisconsin, in which case, no. I don't know if there even is a federal law against transporting weapons..OverThere wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:58 pm If the border crossing is an issue does that change the jurisdiction of the murder from state law to federal law?

Got to love America. Quite happy to let a kid roam the streets with a lethal automatic weapon but hell mend him if he takes it to far from home..OverThere wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:58 pmdob wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:53 pmIt looks like they have the Castle Doctrine, rather than Stand Your Ground. its not like Jared was given anything important to deal with though like the Palestinian/Israel "issue"....in fairness he does have some business interests there so that did give him some experience.OverThere wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 5:14 pmAnd Jared/Ivanka have never been employed as advisors

Christ. Just saw Tucker Carlson's latest mind-shart about the 17 year old who killed a couple of protesters...I've stayed off the political threads for a while, but I'd be interested to know if anyone thinks that Tucker is in any way justified in defending this?

the fact that its being debated whether a kid behaved lawfully while wandering the streets during a riot with a machine gun and kills 2 people tells you everything you need to know about US gun law or lack thereof. The fact that cops drove past and basically ignored him during a protest about a cop literally sticking a gun in a black mans's back and shooting him 7 times as he tries to get in a car with his kids in the backseat tells you everything you need to know about US race "relations".dob wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 10:09 pmIt may just be as simple as it's illegal to bring an undeclared weapon into Wisconsin, in which case, no. Good point. It's not that the cops are badly trained. They already have the mindset to harm people of colour.Hal Jordan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 7:15 am If only he'd waited a few years, then he could have been a cop.

who is fatter - Trump or Henry VIII?
I dont know what went down with the first shooting but in the video I saw there's a mob of people chasing him, one guy swinging a skateboard at his head and another armed with a handgun. Honestly I'm not surprised he shot them.
Cant comment on the first shooting though. Maybe he's in the wrong there, I dunno.
