BTW, this is why Toulouse is not getting any RWC games.

They are making the same mistake as Bristol: thinking the laws of the game will permit you to succeed without any physical presence.

Ross handed off by Ntmack
Ramos is the Toulouse fullback, not the ref.
In general you might be right but they've just spent about twenty minutes in possession in the Munster half and even a smidgeon of creativity would have seen them score.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 2:50 pmThey are making the same mistake as Bristol: thinking the laws of the game will permit you to succeed without any physical presence.

Absolutely mad ending to the game. McGuigan maybe knocks the ball on in the act of scoring, Toulouse and Sale packs start fighting and a few Toulouse players not involved in the melee go from behind their own posts to score!

Gotta say, if Ramos is being done for the 'headbutt' then someone from Sale should be done for making contact with the eye area. There was clearly a hand being shoved over his eyes.

Agreed on the latter but it is a 14 pt swing.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 3:05 pmIn fact it's nothing for anyone!Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 3:02 pmMight be 14 pt swing back the other waysockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 3:00 pm Absolutely mad ending to the game. I was premature, hit submit before Sale restarted with their penalty.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 3:07 pmAgreed on the latter but it is a 14 pt swing.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 3:05 pmIn fact it's nothing for anyone!

and my post was at the half time …….. and accurate until the end .
It's a _bit_ harsh. Their preferred team probably includes their best backrower and not Jono Ross, plus Quirke at 9, Tuilagi in midfield, Roebuck in the back three, etc, and that's before you even mention George Ford. Accept they are brute force team more than most and certainly Sanderson doesn't seem to be a coach that can manage a team that doesn't have physical superiority.
Plus Toulouse are a ridiculously stacked squad tbh.

Bolded bit is something some of us have been questioning given the budget restrictions.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 3:43 pmIt's a _bit_ harsh. Conditions have definitely turned this into the opposite type of game you'd expect from these two sides.

Quins really need to build some sort of lead they can defend because no idea why, but Racing have many starters on the bench (Chat, Nyakane, Sanconnie, Chouzenoux) and you'd think they will get better with that lot on.

Comms mentioned that Chat is due to illness during the week, presumably the others are punished for last week?Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 18, 2022 6:05 pm Quins really need to build some sort of lead they can defend because no idea why, but Racing have many starters on the bench (Chat, Nyakane, Sanconnie, Chouzenoux) and you'd think they will get better with that lot on.

That was more lively from Quins, even if it looked a bit more by accident than design.

Quins not doing much with the additional man, but their defence has been very committed today.

True and that's on top of him muddling players's names with greater frequency than one should when being paid not to plus generally rubbish punditry. Needs to be put out to pasture really.
Yes, blowing the whistle was a mistake. And Allen was screwed as all his teammates were in front of him. I don't think it would have changed the result but I think the ref knew he'd screwed up.
