I'm even more confident now. Probably because I've put 4 beers down range so far

I am looking forward to seeing Hogg knock back kicks from the 22 with interest and Finn brining out his excellent tactical kicking game from midfield. I think Tuipolotu might also surprise England with his short kicking game, he's certainly surprised me.I like neeps wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 10:35 amI don't think England will be very attack focused to be fair as it's the hardest install. Borthwick's England is going to be fix the defence and kick the leather aff it and kick chase kick chase kick chase, target the breakdown after the kick chase. Townsend will know this so maybe Jones is in there as the game breaker.clydecloggie wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 10:26 am
Siones instead of Huwipolotou is interesting - they're both essentially 13s so Toonie going for to opposite solution to Franco Smith. In attack, those numbers shouldn't mean much. Will be interesting to see if Jones can make us forget Harris' defence though.
Also I think Graham has been our best attacking weapon the last year so with him out adding some threat is a good plan.

Pretty disappointed to end that half behind, but generally not too much to be annoyed about in that half.
I think a few have been fairly average. We've missed too many tackles and allowing them to get quick ruck ball.
England got up the field far too easily at the end.

He's been average. We all remember games where he was shit. They didn't look like this, we were usually thirty points down.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
His kicking has been
Not the time to go into this but Duhans defence is also a real liability
All the money you made will never buy back your soul
Duhan hasnt been at fault despite the tries being his side. He had to come in due to lack of urgency for others to move across. Gray and Ritchie didn't work hard enough for the 2nd try.
For the 1st he has to come in as the England 13 is in space outside the Scottish centres and would have a walk in for the 2nd the inside defender is pulled out of line leaving a 3 on 1 v Duhan.

Awesome! Did not see that coming. A BP win is fantastic, especially given we made plenty of mistakes. A vintage win, arguably without a vintage Finn performance
Left hand down a bit
A bit worried how easily we gave up territory, especially as we were clearly not fully competing at the rucks. I also thought Finn was a bit average but it never got to the stage he was problematic. On the face of it Ritchie and Crosbie had poor games but that could just be the impression left by the tactics.
I would actually stick with the same front 5. I like WP being given 50 minutes and Zander coming on. I would imagine Watson will be back and Ritchie will move to the blindside. As others have said big Richie's hands in the try were superb and he was a real menace in the lineout.

Yup. If you look back on the last three games at Twickenham, first we had the crazy comeback for the draw (and almost win). Then we actually did win, but without fans. And now we’ve beaten them with the place packed. The fear is well and truly gone. If only we could have closed out the NZ game, that one might be gone too!
Please, please, can we just not throw next week’s game away. I honestly can’t recall when Scotland last won our first two games.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
Easy to criticise Crosbie and Ritchie but they did keep the English forwards quiet for large parts of the game. Whilst they weren't flashy they stuck in and did the hard donkey work close in. Sometimes it is just roll the sleeves up and dig in type of game for these guys. I'm not sure I would make many changes for next week other than on the bench with Fagerson and Watson coming in.Blackmac wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 7:01 pm A bit worried how easily we gave up territory, especially as we were clearly not fully competing at the rucks. I can only presume the breakdown tactics were a way of tightening up on the discipline and it largely worked so it's nice not seeing us get whistled off the park.dpedin wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 7:10 pmEasy to criticise Crosbie and Ritchie but they did keep the English forwards quiet for large parts of the game. I get so pissed off at refs giving nonsense scrum penalties. The one against Nel in the first half was just nonsense and the one where Cole's head popped up virtually facing backwards was equally as bad.

Not sure I’d agree with Watson coming on to the bench, I thought Dempsey was very good when he came on and deserves another go next week.dpedin wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 7:10 pmEasy to criticise Crosbie and Ritchie but they did keep the English forwards quiet for large parts of the game. I thought Watson was right back on track last week for Edinburgh. If fit he has to be back, especially against Gatland's dads army.KingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 7:34 pmNot sure I’d agree with Watson coming on to the bench, I thought Dempsey was very good when he came on and deserves another go next week.dpedin wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 7:10 pmEasy to criticise Crosbie and Ritchie but they did keep the English forwards quiet for large parts of the game.
