Can’t wait to see this on the Netflix documentary
Maybe not in terms of pure quality rugby, but riding out the french attacks, restricting them to a drop goal, and then playing the corners to put the pressure back on them.
They got a bit loose when France scored in yh first half, bit got back in control.
Don't know what strictly is tbh.
We’ve beat the best other team in the comp. If we’ve had a tendency when missing a slam, it’s been to lose to the other best team, be it Wales, England or France.

Wrong-sort bandwagoner alert. Probably don’t even OWN a sheepskin.
Hang on, this is about the Lowe try?
TMO is in van with more angles than we see on TV. He's not just reviewing what we see on TV. He's running many angles at the same time to judge grounding.
The problem was Barnes saying onfield try.

Brilliant game, well done Ross great off bench, Doris something else. TOT great cameo and Penaud was phenomenal for France.
What the actual fúck Floppy? Are you contractually obliged to mention the sponsor or something. It's either Lansdowne Rd, or if you insist, LR2.

How much money would you lay on that? France is polarised on this. As I said earlier, we had the Midi Olympique analysts, after last week, in exasperation saying Jalibert will never start, no matter what. It's Eddie Jones/Youngs all over.

There seems to be the same mental hang up we used to have about BOD. We’re not winning without him/he’s the gravy. It’s dangerous for a squad. Or Italian forwards standing around watching Parisse play one a side.

It may be different for internationals but at Heineken level the TMO does not have access to their own set of Matrix screens covering everything.
Joy Neville was clearly heard on ref mic recently saying she'd requested additional camera angles from the director when asked to review an incident.

Tbf, Dupont didn't seem to be flagging. And was certainly key to France having any chance. We couldn't handle himself and the two wingers.redderneck wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:22 pmThere seems to be the same mental hang up we used to have about BOD. Doris’ pass out of contact. I think I owe the Mrs a new set of curtains.
And the same applies in Toulouse.redderneck wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:22 pmThere seems to be the same mental hang up we used to have about BOD. We’re not winning without him/he’s the gravy. It’s dangerous for a squad. Or Italian forwards standing around watching Parisse play one a side.
I am not sure Dupont makes it to the World Cup at that rate.

Ringrose just handed off a French defender like he wasn’t there
He was. That ruck in the Irish 22s where he is not back. His kick blocked 2 minutes later. He was in the red.CM11 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:24 pmTbf, Dupont didn't seem to be flagging. Yep. Or like Oz with Gregan - couldn't move on. Cuts both ways, stuffs the player up and there's no plan B/confidence for the team when the player is out with injury.redderneck wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:22 pmThere seems to be the same mental hang up we used to have about BOD. Seemed like it was his linesman that called that he'd seen the grounding.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:23 pmAgree. There is no way Barnes could have anything other than uncertainty and in that situation, you always call "Onfield, no try". It's long overdue that he retired.

Oh do f**k off. I pointed out immediately that he came on that Galthie had f**ked up and had to reshuffle the backline. FB is a position I'd not play Jalibert in at Pro2 precisely because you cannot leave him isolated without tackle cover. FHs get that in the 10 channel but no-one is coming to your rescue as last man. And what did you expect him to do offensively from FB, deep in own half and chasing 2 scores?
This was real easy......... for a coach who had a brain cell or wasn't determined to prove a point
- Dumortier to FB: where he regularly plays for UBB
- Moefana to wing where he's played most of his games for France
- Ntamack to 12 where he's played loads for ST and he can tackle in that channel
- Jalibert at FH
I'd almost believe that it was such a retard decision to put Jalibert in the worst place possible, that is was on purpose just so idiots in France could come on and say "See, Jalibert is no good". FM.
It shows why Galthie preferred the kick and chase too
When we try to keep ball in hand we struggled to gain ground. We are better in broken play. However with the new way of referring rucks, turnovers will be rarer.
France have a mountain to climb.

At least with BOD he was at 13 and could take a breather during the game. A scrum half can’t do that.redderneck wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:22 pmThere seems to be the same mental hang up we used to have about BOD. We’re not winning without him/he’s the gravy. that reverse angle though definitely showed the ground contact, so presumably the tmo didnt have it available

Read what I wrote earlier.
The knock on was his fault. Jelonch had his best game for at least a year. For once he actually did some link play. In fact, he really was the only backrow who shone. Alldritt was very quiet again which is worrying and Ollivon is looking for all the world like a man who has had one too many serious injuries.

Made no difference, better side clearly won.spike wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:32 pmthat reverse angle though definitely showed the ground contact, so presumably the tmo didnt have it available
Dupont however, just head and shoulders above everyone else right now
Well, at least we won't hear so much about French TV directors.spike wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:32 pmthat reverse angle though definitely showed the ground contact, so presumably the tmo didnt have it available

On a sidebar. I said last week how brutal the modern game is on the scoreboard. The final score often no longer gives you an entirely ‘fair’ sense of how competitive a game really was. That was in the balance right up to the final ten or so.
That ball should never have left the lineout. It should have been a maul. Jelonch never expected that ball.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:33 pmRead what I wrote earlier.
