Score in no way reflects the match, it's been a breathless first half and just instances where shit has happened. Can see it ending up being really bad but what a game of balls to the wall rugby.

To be honest I didn't have great expectations of this match.

Who knew it could be just as horrible to watch when we aren’t utterly shite. I can barely take this!

Too many errors at key points. More than enough ball to win that match.

I honestly couldn’t believe that he got back in the squad.

Despite the awful start, we could have won today, and that moment was where it slipped away from us.

Was it Brown or the jumper (Ritchie?)?

Expected to lose today. But now I feel devastated. Which says something about the game.

It’d have to the jumper plus two lifters all being wrong.

Amazing performance by 21 of the players though. Really excellent. Just needed to be a bit more clinical and then it wouldn't matter what nonsense Gilchrist and Brown get up to.

I'm actually in a bit of shock. Thought we might get beat by 50 plus after the red and 19 nil, but I'm still gutted. Finn had some great moments but on the whole I thought he allowed the moment to get to him and played too hard and loose, especially from 60 to 70 minutes when we had them on the rocks.

Well I thought it was a brilliant game of Rugby to watch ( though obviously not as good as the England v Wales match yesterday :wtf: )

Yeh we lost . but what entertainment

I’m currently trying to convince my mates that in order for us to win away games, I need to be where I was when we won at Twickenham.

They’re reluctant to chip in for me to go back to San Francisco for future games though. Any advice?

There was a time, not all that long ago, when I just wished that Scotland could be competitive in 6N games. Well, now we have that again, but (surprise, surprise) it isn’t enough. We have yet to move to a level where we are still in the hunt for the title on the final day, let alone win it, and I just can’t see that changing this year. Feeling pretty depressed.

We’ve got a shot at home against Ireland. If we were to win that, we’d be in it on the final day.

We’ve been getting closer, we’ll get there. We have a generation of players coming through who are used to winning games rather than capitulating at the end, in spite of todays result.

Thanks - I needed to hear that.

I just can’t see us beating Ireland, but let’s hope we give it a real lash.

We may struggle to beat Ireland this year but I think we'll give them a run. I can remember feeling confident about games back in the 70s early 80s, I think that was just the inexperience of youth. I am worryingly expectant with the current and next generation of players coming through. Looking at the U20s I think the Super6 is starting to show results.

Ireland looking less unbeatable because of their injuries. Quietly confident.

Have to say my overall feeling is incredibly proud. We could have fucking won that.

At the end of that day we are a proper team.

This time 4 weeks ago I gave us no chance in the 6N or the WC. We can still win this and we have a very good chance of getting out our group. This doesn’t feel like another one off or a false Dawn, we are good

I switched the game off after Gilcho got sent off, it wasn't just the game, our dog is very unwell, so I'm just catching up now

I won't go over everything, you guys have done it all already, I'm sure, but Fagerson also hit the French ball carrier in the face with his shoulder.

Matt, in the same incident that led to Gilchrist being sent off

I’m seeing criticism of Finn in various places. I don’t get it. He did some daft things but overall he was utterly brilliant- did things no other 10 would even think of.

3 years ago it would frustrate me but he is so obviously a generational talent now that I’m happy to shrug my shoulders and wait for the next bit of magic. He defines this period of Scottish rugby and we should enjoy it

Gilchrist also did exactly the same thing in the very first contact of the game. I’m a big fan, but it was utterly brainless

Left the ground gutted we didn’t win but also very proud of the lads. This team is very good, and it’s time we believed that. The brainfarts happen to all teams, hopefully we will be seeing them less and less in the future.

Absolutely bloody knackered, great weekend over here though.

We couldn’t hear the ref, but my mate text to say he wasn’t going to send the French prop off 😳

Yeah, couldn’t believe it at the time. He wanted to give yellow only, he had to be told. Not only was it a red but Haouas should be facing a hefty ban for that.

I was screaming at the tv when it happened, absolutely blatant.

Can’t believe White wasn’t injured, should have been off for a HIA too/

Yeah he did, but I think he got enough of his shoulder and made a decent attempt to wrap so I think penalty only.

Yes please, not always been a fan, but seems to be more settled in style of play and more mature and an Intl coach. Not always relying on Harris and relations with Fynn seem much better now.
