High dangerous and stupid.
No not LD this time.
Yeah, happy to debate a yellow card as it was probably more reflex than intent, but I guess it's tricky territory when refs are guessing as to player's intent.

The game will die if head shots are allowed.
Look at the group actions being taken atm by players with dementia.
I am on the side of player safety. I have seen professionally what happens to head contacts.

There’s nothing in this at all, we probably would have faded in the last 20 anyway. What a waste, what a farce, you can’t play rugby like this

His shape was lead by going for the ball.EnergiseR2 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 6:01 pmDon't go for the ball and certainly don't turn I'm with your shoulder to brace into his head. This stuff is not complicated anymore
So the advice is not to go for the ball?

Duty of care, standing up and elbow to head. Dangerous end of.EnergiseR2 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 6:01 pmDon't go for the ball and certainly don't turn I'm with your shoulder to brace into his head. This stuff is not complicated anymore
Clearest red by the laws of the game.
It was more like a brace for impact. Surely there was mitigation in that the Irisher was so low.
He probably should not have turned side on to that collision though, that was how he might have avoided it.

Well, he could've committed to making a tackle. Even if Keenan never gathered the ball and Steward was thus tackling a man without it, that's a penalty only offence.
There's certainly an argument that maybe it should be a yellow, rather than a red, not least for Keenan's height/body position, but Steward chose to come steaming in towards a player not clearly in possession of the ball and made a late decision to brace for contact rather than make a tackle. It's a reckless action the outcome of which is not really under his control.

Well he could have not closed the gap to the point where wasn't going to be able to carry out a legal tackle ?
He was left with the choice of being fact to fact & probably having a head-on-head incident, result Red Card; or what he did, & turning, & shouldering the attacking player in the head, result Red Card.
Ffs he didn’t lead with his elbow it was beside his body Keenan was running head down. I am not one of the rugby is going soft brigade but I find that decision mystifying it didn’t happen at speed that is at worst a YC but rugby incident for me.
Pound to a penny there will be no ban .
