Wales deserve a lot of credit for this response

the woman co-commentator was certainly sniggering, as she knew what had happened, while the lead commentator somehow thought someone had trod on his foot

Crowds are pretty good for the tournament full stop, the exceptions are the games at Scotstoun and the game we hosted at the Stoop

Are the players coming from a wide variety of clubs, or are they primarily coming from the big T14 squads ?Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:32 pmHe's a quick lad. Oddly, he's looked better in T14 for UBB than in this comp.

Most of these are on T14 books and several are getting T14 game time: it's the latter that is the difference here.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:36 pmAre the players coming from a wide variety of clubs, or are they primarily coming from the big T14 squads ?Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:32 pmHe's a quick lad. Been an entertaining mix of brute force and beauty but nothing resembling a competition.
Wales losing half a back division and the lack of the red card didn't help.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:39 pm Been an entertaining mix of brute force and beauty but nothing resembling a competition.
That said France are massive and athletic and well coached.
That is a red

France were superb.
But if this ref is allowed to officiate again there could be some serious injuries. I do not think he took player safety seriously at all.
He bottled the red cards and allowed some very dangerous elbows to the head to go unpunished.
France don't even need to go out to maim their opponents. Wales lost 2 players to those yellows.
Having lost a player in the warm up.
The only positive for Wales was Morse, he was excellent.

I wonder if the laws need to be looked at in regards braced elbow v leading elbow because the outcome is the same in most cases.C69 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:54 pm France were superb.

20 years ago, the ref's leniency may have been okay because these grade players looked like kids. But now they are men in everything bar experience.
Tbh the Welsh looked like Kids the French forwards looked like 30 year olds.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:57 pmI wonder if the laws need to be looked at in regards braced elbow v leading elbow because the outcome is the same in most cases.C69 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:54 pm France were superb.

The French backs looked skillful and fast and very well drilled.
The French discipline and cheap shots detracted from their brilliance.
He took out Ryan without the ball and pushed into a ruck. Stone cold peno. Replays made it look like Gibson park but peyper said “No, not that one”. England’s discipline was fairly poor throughout. The YC par for the course really.
