Do they actually check the forums and comments or is it some how leaving a hidden psychic imprint on them? Just background negative vibes in the universe causing psychic emotional damage?Enzedder wrote: Sat Apr 08, 2023 1:47 amAfter years of abuse from know-nothings on the "interweb", I'm not surprised.broeyes wrote: Sat Apr 08, 2023 1:41 am BB kind of looks depressed recently.
I certainly find his form for the Blues depressing.
They are abused more than buck-toothed Prime Ministers, especially if they are from the wrong province.

If you think Merts is best, you obviously stuck somewhere like Aus Grandpa. We got plenty of good commentators, some people don't like, and I can't even remember some of their names. but Ben Castle etc are all pretty good. Commentators don't worry me too much anyway, most people seem to only like those that blow the air up the arses of their provinces, or countries. Amuses that when people say they dislike commentators from NZ,SA,Aus, Pommy land etc, some suit me more than others (a lot of pommy ones doing Heinekein Cup etc) and screamers can annoy me, but it's all taste. All you need is for them to say who has the ball etc. Much like rating players.Grandpa wrote: Thu Apr 06, 2023 9:34 pmWho is on it?Guy Smiley wrote: Thu Apr 06, 2023 9:27 pm I guess this is the best place to put this, being a sort of default NZ rugby thread...
Sky Sport have excluded Justin Marshall from their RWC commentary team.

But we don't get your commentary so doesn't matter really. I don't really like any NZ pundits apart from Mehrtens anyway.
Whereever possible I actually go to games, and find I can watch it without taking notice of commentators anyway.

That was an ugly win for the Crusaders, but we still managed to win. Which is in itself an achievement given we have 17 members of the squad injured plus we lost Fainga'anuku and Goodue on the night. Very happy for Mo'unga to reach his 100 games for the Crusaders, and he was one of the few Crusaders who played well. Jeff Wilson repeatedly called him the most influential Super Rugby player ever, and I strongly agree.
Really like the look of young Dominic Gardiner. I don't think he's a longterm lock, but I like the look of him as a 6. He's got a great workrate and his a handy ball-runner. Will be interesting to see where he fits in to the team when the likes of Whitelock, Barrett, Grace and Blackadder return.

Yep, he's been very good. Really caught the eye on last year's NZ XV tour, and continues to impress. If Foster is going to continue to play Savea at 8, alongside Cane or Papalii at 7, then we need a genuine, test level lineout target at 6. So either Barrett or Vaa'i will be moved to 6, or a taller blindside flanker like Suafua , Ah Kuoi or Gardiner will need to be introduced.Gumboot wrote: Sat Apr 08, 2023 5:46 amYep, he's been very good. I've seen little to indicate either of the other two you mentioned are anywhere near ready for test rugby. Good players, but All Blacks?Carter's Choice wrote: Sat Apr 08, 2023 5:50 amIf Foster is going to continue to play Savea at 8, alongside Cane or Papalii at 7, then we need a genuine, test level lineout target at 6. Yeah, i've seen nothing from either that suggests they are good enough to be starting AB's, I was just throwing their names up because they are the only options for 6 who are genuine lineout targets.Gumboot wrote: Sat Apr 08, 2023 5:55 amI've seen little to indicate either of the other two you mentioned are anywhere near ready for test rugby. Welcome, friends. Let’s begin today’s chat with a prayer for our Lord and Mas….
Fuck that. Shots?
I'd be surprised if Foster introduces anyone new outside of the ABs XV.
Luke Jacobson would probably be picked before Gardiner who was part of the ABs XV.
I thought Ah Kuoi and Suafoa deserved to go on NPC form ahead of Gardiner but outside of lots of injuries I don't see either Ah Kuoi or Suafoa being on the mix.

I wouldn't mind Jacobson making the squad, especially after he missed out on the last RWC. He's in good nick, long may it last.broeyes wrote: Sat Apr 08, 2023 7:05 am I'd be surprised if Foster introduces anyone new outside of the ABs XV.

On paper this is easily a Canes win but I've got it as a tight one, mainly because the Canes have been defensively woeful this season.

Terrible call by the ref: legit by both Canes players over the ball.
He'll be the All Blacks 12....

Not a great reffing display so far. How was that last scrum on the Lander's line not a pen to the Canes?
I'm stumped by many of his decisions today... both what he is blowing for.. and what he is missing...Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sat Apr 08, 2023 7:48 amNot a great reffing display so far. How was that last scrum on the Lander's line not a pen to the Canes?

Canes lucky to get away with not conceding more and possibly a man in the bin, but the Highlanders dodged a huge one tat last scrum down their end. The ref was asleep then the TMO was for the supposed Morgan knock on. The Midget, as is his want, is stinking up the place. After one peanlty, the ref has then invited de Groot to walk it around a couple more times... maybe he needs the practice.
I don't have a good feeling about this. We could easily get a man in the bin then concede a heap.
